Change of the Guard: From Cheryl Sylvestrini to Bill Blessing. July 2, 2015 ... by Skip Plank
“I truly thank all members in our club for the great support and kindness you gave me this year. I only wish that I could report that I learned this year how to crack an egg with one hand. But I still can’t!” Cheryl Silvestrini. With that quote, Cheryl continued documenting the remarkable year that the Skaneateles Rotary Club experienced. She gave praise to Bill Conole for speakers and Skantarian articles, Guido van der Ven, Christmas Food Pantry, Robin Jowaisas, Pancake Breakfast, Amy Tormey for membership and her work on women’s forum, Ward Vuillemot for new web site, facebook page and help in securing Rotary matching grants, Bill Buterbaugh for RI Foundation and PolioPlus giving, Lee Bennett for student exchange program and to members and officers of the Rotary Board and Skaneateles Rotary Foundation Board.
Cheryl, in an emotional tone, reflected that it is with sadness that her year has ended. But she felt very fortunate and honored to lead and work with such a talented and committed membership. “Each week you all “light up Rotary” with extraordinary deeds and accomplishments, no president can ask for more. Thank you all so very much!!!”
Cheryl’s final action was giving Bill Blessing the Rotary presidential gavel and her best wishes……then a warm embrace!!
