As we enjoy a beautiful summer here by the lake I look forward to hearing suggestions and ideas from you about club projects, outings and events we should support, both to carry forward our mission to improve our community and enjoy each other's company, while the weather is good and the living easy. WELCOMING PETER ADAMS BACK
Peter Adams will be inducted back into our membership this week, following a few months away, while organizing his duties and schedules as the newly elected Sennett Town Supervisor. We welcome Peter back into our world of Service Above Self.
New Procedure for Special Dinner Requests
As you know, The Sherwood Inn provides a Chef’s choice meal at our weekly meetings. They ask that if you cannot have the meal provided you call in and leave a message at 685-8981 ext. 225 or email events@theSherwood inn.com prior to 5 p.m. the day of the meeting. You will no longer be able to make a special request at the meeting.
If you cannot have the meal provided, you may choose from the following options only:
Sherwood Salad – plain
Sherwood Salad with chicken (can request no bacon)
Sherwood Salad with a scoop of tuna fish (can request no bacon)

200 Club Fund Raiser ... Cheryl
It may not be as exciting as cracking eggs or flipping pancakes, but the 200 Club Raffle is an easy way to raise money to benefit community and youth groups.
Here’s how it works: we sell 200 tickets at $20 each totaling $4,000. We give away $1500 in prizes which leaves us with $2500 to use for worthy causes. We will sell tickets throughout July and August. Two $50 prizes will be drawn at our Club Meetings on 9/1, 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, and 9/29. On 10/6, we will draw a $250 winner, as well as the $750 Grand Prize winner. Also, all weekly winners will be put back into the raffle and be eligible for the Grand Prize!
We need to sell all 200 tickets for this raffle to make it work as outlined, so please consider selling at least 5 tickets to family, friends, co-workers, etc. – and don’t forget to buy your own! Cheryl will have tickets available at all weekly meetings. If paying by check, please make payable to Skaneateles Rotary Foundation. Be sure the contact information is completed on the ticket and give that portion of the ticket to Cheryl along with ticket money/checks.

Summary Notes of July 16, 2016 Meeting... by Ward
Your Board of Directors met last week and the following is a summary of discussions points and resolutions.
SRF Review - Kathy Crelot was away but left the Board a summary of the 2015-16 Worthy Cause Donations and a preliminary net profit for the 2016 Pancake Breakfast of $13,109.
SRC Financial -Duane Weaver reviewed the club operating expenses and fund balance sheet.
Membership Reinstatement - Peter Adam's request to be reinstated as an Active Member was approved, and he will be inducted at the June 21st meeting.
Sgt at Arms - Chuck Williams was elected as the 2016-17 Sgt. at Arms. He has accomplished this task for the past number years with enthusiasm and an exceptional eye for detail.
Thank you letter - Was shared for donations made to: Skaneateles Community Band
Skaneateles Music Guild. - A donation to the Skaneateles Music Guild was approved.
Dinner Selections -The Sherwood has asked that we go back to the practice of notifying them in advance of any special request meals. See article in this newsletter with additional information and details.
Programs - The updated program schedule was reviewed by Bill Conole.
Baseball Outing - August 25th was approved for a off-site event at the Falcon ball park in Auburn for a Doubledays game. More information to follow.
200 Club Fund Raiser - The proposed 200 Club Fund Raiser, organized by Cheryl was reviewed and the initial kick-off accomplished at the regular meeting, which followed. See more on this fund raiser in the article in this newsletter.
Rotary Foundation Goals - RF goals and matching funds were approved for 2016-17. Annual Giving goal of $6,200 and PolioPlus goal of $2,000. The first 30 Rotarians giving $100, or more, will have their contribution matched with $50 of club funds. This policy is retroactive to July 1, 2016.
Club Resources - Ward reviewed the many club resources available on our website, Skantarian, and the soon to be published Club Directory. He offered to phone-assist any member if they are have difficulty accessing the website and it many available resources.
District Grant - Ward informed the Board that the dental equipment for the current approved grant will be ordered soon to assure the quoted price. This equipment will be carried to El Salvador by Gard Lorey and donated to the Mission of Miracles in January.

Club Assembly - President Bill opened his first Club Assembly by briefly recapping some of the items discussed in the club board meeting.
Baseball - President Bill announced that on Thursday August 2 5th our club rotary meeting will be at Falcon Park in Auburn where we will watch the Doubledays play baseball.
Paul Harris Points - Ward briefly described how members accrue points & how they can donate points to award someone a Paul Harris Award.
Skantarian - Bill urged members to read our Skantarian. Our newsletter contains critical club information.
200 Club Fund Raiser - Cheryl described the new "200 Club" Fundraise she has developed. Cheryl is encouraging members to sell 200 of these $20 tickets. Starting in September their will be weekly drawings with the weekly wining tickets going back into the raffle for a grand prize drawing on October 6th. Cheryl anticipates that this fundraiser will earn $2500 which can be used for our club "worthy cause contributions".
Annual Book Gleaning - Ward reported that or annual book gleaning for the CNY BFTW was very successful. Ward thanked the sixteen members who pitched in & packed a palette + of books in less than an hour.
Rotary Foundation - President Bill noted that our Rotary Foundation Goal for the coming year is 6200-----our club Polio + goal is $2,000. Bill congratulated the club members for raising $8,200 for the foundation & $3,200 for Polio+ last year. Like last year for the 1st 15 member contributions of $100 or more the club will contribute an additional $50 contribution to the Foundation. Ward noted that he will award every member who contributes $50 or more to Polio+ a hand crafted, ornate wine stopper with a Rotary Decal.
Meeting Meals - Cheryl reported on the efforts she is making to streamline our meeting meal ordering process. .
Programs - Billl Conole reviewed the programs we have scheduled for the next 3 months. Bill thanked our members for making his job easier by referring programs & speakers to him.
2016-17 Goals - President Bill said that one of his goals this year is build on the success of our annual Woman's Day Meeting. He also wants to have a few offsite meetings. He & Jim McQuiggan. are working on having a meeting this Fall in Beak & Skiff Apple Winery.
Closing - President Bill closed by saying that he is looking forward to serving as our club president in the coming year.

D7150 Youth Exchange Welcome Home Dinner is to be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at The Rusty Rail, Route 5, Canastota, NY
All students who were abroad during the period of July 2015 through July 2016 attend this annual event to relate their impressions as well as afford outbounds for next year (2016-17) the benefit of their experiences. The short speech by each of the returning students relays the highlights of his/her exchange experiences. Dinner attendees and Outbound Students are urged to arrive by 5:45 pm, so that the dinner and talks will commence on time.
All Youth Exchange students will be the guests of the Youth Exchange Committee at the dinner. The cost for Rotarians and family members will be $19.00 per person with advance registration by July 25, 2016, or $24.00 per person after July 25th. Info & Registration Link
