2021 Rotary Foundation & Polio Plus Challenge: Bill B spoke about this year's Foundation giving drive which was kicked off a week ago.  The goal is "every member every year" with monetary goals for Rotary Foundation are; $5100 for Annual Giving fund and $2000 for Polio Plus.  Added incentives are extra points toward Paul Harris Awards and hand crafted bottle stoppers from Ward.  And, if we reach our goal by World Polio Day (October 24) there will be a special Sherwood dinner arranged by Ed and Bill B!  (see more from Bill below)
Holiday Basket Dinner - The members also discussed the Holiday Basket dinner and whether we should go ahead with it this year.  Terry will poll club members to determine the level of interest and participation.

ROTARY FOUNDATION CHALLENGE
Off to Great Start ... by Bill Buterbaugh
Our Club’s Rotary Foundation and Polio Plus Challenge is off to a tremendous beginning as the club is already at 20% of its Rotary Foundation goal of $5,100 and 43% of the way toward the $2,000 Polio Plus goal for this Rotary year. The “Challenge” is to reach these two goals by World Polio Day which is October 24.
“The Skaneateles Rotary Club has always been extremely generous when donating to The Rotary Foundation,” says Terry McCormick, Rotary Club President. “So this year we’ve added a slight twist to make reaching the goals a bit more of a challenge. While the dollar amount goals are the same, we are trying to reach the goals by World Polio Day instead of using that day to kick off our club’s effort. If we meet the challenge, Ed Evans and Bill Buterbaugh will be working with The Sherwood to create a special, celebratory dinner for all members."
But the clock is ticking. There are now only three weeks left to get your contributions in – if you have not already done so – before the challenge deadline. So…
As our club has done in the past, in addition to receiving the Paul Harris Fellow points for your contribution, our club will make a $50 match for each of the first 30 contributors of $100 or more this Rotary year. Additionally, Ward is giving 100 of his points for any contribution of $100 or more to Polio Plus. This makes for a potential 250-point bonanza for Polio Plus donors. That helps make it easy to achieve your first or next Paul Harris Fellow milestone.
Giving to The Rotary Foundation is NOT a club requirement, but we hope you can send $5, $10 or $25 to help make this a total club effort. Please make your checks out to The Rotary FoundationIf you are designating the contribution for Polio Plus, please write “Polio Plus” in the memo line of the check.  If you want to give to both the Foundation and Polio Plus, you will need to write two separate checks. Please send all checks to:  Bill Buterbaugh, 103 East Genesee Street, Skaneateles, NY 13152
Let’s get everyone participating to help meet this challenge.
