PRESIDENTS' CORNER... by Pres., Mary & Cheryl
I hope that you and all of your loved ones are doing well during this trying time. When we decided to cancel meetings two weeks ago (yes, that was just two weeks ago!) we never thought that the situation would develop so rapidly affecting just about every part of our daily lives. However, it did, so we are adjusting and coping.
As Rotarians there are things we can still do to help others. If you have a neighbor that lives alone, give them a call just to check in. If you are able, make a contribution to one of the many organizations serving the less fortunate, for example, the Food Bank of CNY. If you are going to the grocery store or drug store call your neighbor to see if they need anything. Order a gift card from a local business remembering that when our club asks for their donations for the Christmas dinner fundraiser the local businesses always step up. And, a smile and a heartfelt "Thank You" to the store clerk, the mail carrier, transportation workers, municipal workers, health care workers and everyone else working in essential services can help brighten their day.
We aren't sure when we will be meeting again, but until we do please stay safe and healthy'

Town of Skaneateles Resources
The Town of Skaneateles has released information for the community which includes resources, links and contacts.
The District Grant Seminar will be held via on-line Zoom with three dates to select from (April 6, 7 or 8). Click on the desired event to register on-line. All you need to know to prepare and submit at 2020-21 District Grant.
Unfortunately, two of the youth leadership development programs which have historically been sponsored and/or funded for local youth have been canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
RYLA - District Rotary Youth Leadership Awards - The district leadership and decided to cancel 2020 RYLA, and will reconvene it in 2021.
Boys State - Packy Taylor has notified us that the regional American Legion's Boys State has been canceled for this year.
We look forward to these stellar youth leadership development program to return in 2021.

I wanted to inform the Skaneateles Rotary Clubs about free online classes from Mirbeau. We are all so grateful to reconnect during these troubling times. Senior Shopping at TOPS Skaneateles
The customer service desk at Tops confirms that they have Senior Only Shopping hours between 6:00 - 7:30 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the COVID-19 crises. ... by Ward
The Skaneateles Central School District, in conjunction with support from our community members, the Skaneateles Ecumenical Food Pantry, and Skaneateles Outreach, is offering meals to anyone who needs them in the difficult weeks ahead. Breakfast and lunch are available to any family, regardless of income, who needs assistance at this time.
Our kitchen will be open to prepare meals for our community over the next few weeks. You do not need to have children in the school system, and you do not need submit any financial paperwork. These are unsettling times, and we, along with the generous support of our community, will be extending our table to all of our families.
