Meals on Wheels to serve Skaneateles
Meals on Wheels of Syracuse will soon serve the town of Skaneateles, New York. An Informational Open House will be held at the Skaneateles United Methodist Church, 26 Jordan Street on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 11:30 AM. The Informational Open House will be an opportunity for anyone who’s interested in receiving home-delivered meals or volunteering to deliver meals in Skaneateles. Representatives from Meals on Wheels of Syracuse will be on hand to provide an overview of the program and answer questions. When service begins, Meals on Wheels of Syracuse will transport meals from its Syracuse kitchen to the Skaneateles United Methodist Church for local volunteers to pick up and deliver to homebound seniors. Meals on Wheels of Syracuse is now recruiting volunteers in the Skaneateles area who are available weekdays at 11:30 AM to deliver meals. Volunteers are required to fill out an application and attend an orientation. Anyone interested in volunteering may apply online now at www.meals.org/volunteer by calling 315.478.5948.
Selection of RI Director for 2017-2019
Zone 28 Nominating Committee has met and selected Past District Governor Robb Knuepfer to serve as Rotary International Director in 2017-19. Robb served as the District 6450 Governor in 2010-11.

Annual PicnicOur club hosted our annual Pancake Breakfast Thank You & Youth Exchange Welcome Picnic in the beautiful Presbyterian Church Parish Center. President Bill welcomed club members & the more than sixty pancake breakfast volunteers. 
Pancake Breakfast - Pancake Breakfast Chair Robin Jowaisas recapped the results of our 2015 Breakfast by noting that this year’s event was one of the most profitable breakfasts we’ve ever had. Robin pointed out that all of the proceeds of this breakfast go directly to local food pantries & charities. Robin heartily thanked the volunteers & club members for making this year’s breakfast so successful.
Inbound Youth Exchange Students - Lee Bennett introduced our club’s 2015 foreign exchange students Danielle from Chile & Vincent from France. Lee also introduced & thanked our exchange students host families. Lee presented a brief overview of the history of our club’s very active student exchange program. Lori Ruhlman saluted Lee for his twenty two years of service as our club’s Exchange Student Chair.
Thanks - Our Picnic Chair praised, Karen Price, her 2015 “Picnic Team” for coming together & for making this year’s picnic so enjoyable.

90th Eastern Cities Fellowship Dinner
Mark your calendars for the 90th Eastern Cities Fellowship Dinner, hosted by the Rochester Rotary Club, on Sunday, October 18, at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.  Keynote speaker will be Michael McGovern, past RI VP, RF Trustee and Chair of RI PolioPlus Committee. LONG TERM EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Outbound - The 2015-16 Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound students have departed for a year as exchange students abroad.  Sofia Darovskikh,  to Finland, and Zach Driscoll to Germany.  We wish them all the best on their "adventure of a lifetime".  
Inbound -  students have arrived:  Daniela, from Chile, hosted by Cecillia & Rod Stabile,  and Vincent Lambert form France, hosted by Charley & Kim Driscoll.
SHORT TERM EXCHANGE PROGRAM (STEP) 
Hope Glowacki  has spent a few weeks in Sicily, Italy and her host sister, Irene returned with her to Skaneateles for a few weeks.
Adrianna Marshall traveled to Thuringia, Germany and his host sister, Constanze, returned to Skaneateles for an exchange.
