Meet Our Newest Rotarian ... by Ward
At our April 22 virtual meeting, the Skaneateles Rotary Club inducted their newest member, Reece Eddy.  Reece is a financial advisor and lives in Skaneateles.  He learned of our club and its activities through local Rotarians and has been a frequent visitor for the past few months.  Reese is looking forward to participation in our club service opportunities in our local and extended community.
We welcome Reece's talents and enthusiasm in our continuing efforts to serve our world communities through a strong and vibrant Rotary Club.
Baltimore Woods Trail Signage ... by Ward
On a snowy Spring day last Thursday, Rotarians (L-R) Dale Drake, David Lee & Jay Stith  met with Whitney Lash-Marshal, Executive Director of Baltimore Woods to dedicate the signage for the accessibility path. The path was made possible this past year through a Rotary District Grant supported by the Skaneateles, Skaneateles SunRise, Marcellus & Camillus-Solvay-Geddes Rotary Clubs.  The grant was organized and led by Rotarian Dale Drake of Skaneateles Rotary Club.  Rotarians working with their community to make a better world
Earth Day 2021 in Skaneateles ... by Ward
The two local Skaneateles Rotary Clubs joined forces to clean up the Skaneateles creek and Charlie Major trail on Saturday, April 24th.  The weather was great and many hands made the task pleasant and rewarding for the Rotarians and their friends and family who joined in the effort. The event was co-chaired by Rotarians Chris Legg & Rosemary Mondo. Thanks to all the Rotarians, friends and family members who participated.  Our town, creek & walkways are cleaner and freshened for Spring thanks to their efforts.
Pictured are the three masked Gothic Rotarians.  Can you name them?
LAST WEEK - Apr 22nd, 2021 ... by Mary
Membership/Attendance: 53 Active members with 16 attending
Guests:  Guest speakers: Don Agate & Marie Gingras
New Member Induction - Tyler introduced Reece Eddy who he then inducted to our club.  See the article above to get to know Reece a bit.  Reece said he was excited to be a member and he intends to jump in feet first by participating in the Earth Day cleanup of the Charlie Major trail.  Welcome to Reece and we look forward to meeting you at an in person meeting.
Food Drive Update -  Andy reported on the successful food drive which delivered over 80 boxes of food for the Spafford and Skaneateles food pantries and raised over $3600 to be donated to the pantries.  Thanks to Andy for leading on this project.
The ProgramDave introduced our guest speakers Don Agate and Marie Gingras, owners of Good Eats and Sips restaurant on Genesee St in the village.  Don and Marie both have extensive experience in the hospitality industry.  Don is no stranger to Skaneateles having worked at many of the local restaurants.  Good Eats and Sips  opened in June 2020.  Don said "Where there is adversity there is opportunity" and he and Marie have proven that by working their way through COVID's challenges including developing a menu conducive to take out, managing capacity, working around supply limits and hiring staff.  If you haven't visited yet, stop in and try out the very different menu items which are a welcome addition to the diversity of restaurants in our village.
Earth Day - Jay Stith updated the members and said that  volunteers are still needed. (see article above)
In Person Meeting  There was discussion and consensus that we have a meeting at the American Legion pavilion on May 13th.  Robin and Bill B will work on making that happen.
