PRESIDENTS' CORNER... by Pres., Bill Conole
PRESIDENT BILL (alias Grover Cleveland) BIDS FAREWELL: Shortly my term as SRC President will end. Because I have served two nonconsecutive terms as our club president, I have often facetiously referred to myself as Grover Cleveland. Grover, a local boy of sorts, was the only US President to serve nonconsecutive terms (22nd& 24thPresident). As my term comes to a close, I want to thank all of our members for your assistance & support. You have made my job easy. I look forward to working with our incoming president Doug Powell. I am confident that Doug will bring new vigor & vitality to our club. Thank you.
LAST WEEK... by Ward (Mary's going abroad)
The Beginnings:
Preyers & thoughts - John O'Sullivan informed us of his son, John, had recent motorcycle accident in the Boston area. He is in critical, but stable condition in a Boston Hospital. Please keep him and the O'Sullivan family in your preyers & thoughts.
Happy 38th Anniversary - Doug & Cathey Powell shared their 38th Anniversary with us. The celebrated their wedding night at the Sherwood Inn, that many years ago. Interesting story by Cathey. ;-)
Barn to Arena Equipment Move - It was announced that there may be a problem people-power moving the equipment from Lee's barn to the Arena Friday morning. Options discussed and some volunteers found, and more sought.
Banners - The Powells volunteered to store and take on the banners following this Pancake Breakfast. Ward is very happy to transfer the task to them following approximately 30 years of banner service (Above Self) ... or is it (Above Garage)? Anyway, he says It's Way Cool!!!
The Program
No formal program - Just plan fellowship, good times and good food.
