"Thanksgiving is behind us and Christmas is approaching. Our Club dinner at the Sherwood is December 14th, details and menu to be announced. Let's share our good fortune with others by bringing a new or gently used adult coat (men's or women's) to the dinner. Coats will be given to the Skaneateles Outreach the very next day to be given out on Saturday December 16th with the food baskets. The needs are:
5-7 adult small for women
5-7 adult small for men
40-45 assorted Med, Large, XL and 2XL for men
45-50 assorted sizes for women (slightly more for women because of single moms)
If you're out shopping this weekend it's a perfect time to take advantage of a sale!

Holiday cheer was flowing at our Christmas Benefit Dinner last evening! Thank you to everyone that worked so hard to make the event a success....to the members on the committee, to the Rotarians that gathered gifts for the raffle, to Rotarians who brought friends to the event, to our photographer and to Rotarians that contributed gifts for the raffle. The SCC staff did a fabulous job serving us and the music before dinner was wonderful . Thank you one and all! Checks were mailed to the Skaneateles Food Pantry, the Spafford Food Pantry and the Skaneateles Outreach on Friday.

LAST WEEK: .... by Bill Conole SKANEATELES ROTARY CHRISTMAS BENEFIT - 2017
President Mary Giroux welcomed more than 200 Rotarians, their spouses & guests who gathered in the Skaneateles Country Club to support the needy in our Skaneateles Community. Beautiful seasonal music was provided by musician Win Price. Rev Craig Lindsey, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church offered a heartwarming blessing. After a delicious turkey dinner, master of ceremonies, Bill Conole, thanked everyone for participating in our club’s annual event to raise funds for the Christmas need & wishes of those in our community who are less fortunate than we are. Bill gave special thanks to the SCC Staff for the terrific holiday venue & dinner. Bill noted that since it’s inception more than 80 years ago has orchestrated an annual Christmas Party to raise funds for those in our community who need help at this special time of year. To do this our club partners with the staff of the Skaneateles Outreach Office & the Skaneateles & Spafford food pantries to identify & assist the families & individuals in our community who are destitute this holiday season. Bill pointed out that last year this event raised almost $10,000 all of which was immediately went out for the Christmas needs in our community.
A great time was had by all during our raffle. About 150 attendees won raffle prizes. The gala celebration was concluded by everyone singing Silent Night. Recap—Thanks to all of members our 2017 Rotary Christmas Benefit was a big success. We raised more than $11,500, all of which immediately went out for the Christmas needs in our community. Our members pitched in to sell tickets, to engender enthusiasm for people to come to the dinner, by soliciting our merchants for raffle gifts & by contributing their own gifts. Most of all our members must be saluted for the time & effort they devoted to make this most worthy venture so successful this year.
Special thanks must be given to the following members of the 2017 Christmas Benefit Committee: Cheryl Silvestrini, Marv Langley, Amy Tormey, Kathy Crelot, Roy Mac Donald, Dave Piper, Chris Pateras, Cathy Powell, Steve Schwartz, Dale Zabel, Jack Hyatt, Timer Whittingham, Doug Powell, Bill Conole Robin Jowaisas & Mary Giroux.
