PRESIDENTS' CORNER ... by Pres., Mary Giroux
Spring continues to bloom and bring fresh greenery and a multitude of colors.  It is great to see.  And it was great to hear from Emily Norris and Chloe Strang about their adventures abroad during the last year.  Both young women conveyed strong enthusiasm and gratitude for their experiences with the Rotary exchange program.
The Pancake Breakfast is only 5 weeks from Mother's Day and enthusiasm is staring to build.  Be on the lookout for news articles in the Skaneateles Press and the debut of our special 50th anniversary poster.
See you next Thursday and I hope you all have a nice Mother's Day.

THE PROGRAM - Youth Exchange Students
Karin Price introduced our two speakers, Outbound YE Students Emily Norris & Chloe Strang.
Emily Norris recounted her experience as a YE Student in Italy in a small industrial city East on Milan.  Emily quickly adjusted to her Italian school & her new classmates. During her year abroad Emily traveled to Russia to visit Moscow & St Petersburg.  Emily traveled extensively visiting 13 European Countries.  Emily’s host families to wanted to practice their English while Emily was eager to learn Italian. In spite of this miner issue, Emily became very close to her “Italian Families”.
Chloe Strang told of her experience in the Netherlands in the scenic city of Haarlem. Chloe noted that almost everyone in Holland rides bikes. This keeps the Dutch very fit.  While in Holland Chloe was able to learn about Dutch culture & arts & to improve artistic & dancing skills. Chloe loved her Dutch host parents & her Dutch brothers & sisters.
Chloe & Emily thanked our Skaneateles Rotary Club for enabling them to have life changing experiences as Outbound YE Students in Italy & Holland.
