THIS WEEK'S MEETING - MARCH 17th
RI Director, Jennifer Jones, will be our special guest helping us to celebrate seven of our member's achievements and contributions towards their Paul Harris Fellow recognitions. She will speak of: Rotary Beyond Club. Oh yes, and a special meal commemorating St. Patrick's Day.
Jones is president and CEO of Media Street Productions Inc. She actively participates on many boards in her community, including as chair of the Board of Governors of the University of Windsor.
Jones has served Rotary as RI president’s representative; RI training leader; committee adviser, member, and vice chair; Rotary public image area and zone coordinator; leaders’ seminar trainer; moderator; and district governor.
Jones is a recipient of RI’s Service Above Self Award. She and her husband, Nicholas Krayacich, are members of the Arch Klumph Society, Paul Harris Society, and Bequest Society of The Rotary Foundation.
PDG HERB JERRY WILL BE MISSED... by DG Mac
I am Sorry to have to tell you that our friend and fellow Rotarian Past District Governor Herb Jerry passed away Sunday afternoon. PDG Herb is survived by his two sons.
Services will be Friday morning. Calling hours are from 10 AM to 11 AM with services following at Sisskind Funeral Services 3175 E. Genesee St, Syracuse (across from Nottingham High School).
Herb has been a member of the Eastwood club since 1974. He has given a lot of his time to Youth Exchange and RYLA. He was our District Governor in 1999-2000.
He attended at least two Rotary International Conventions- Brazil, while he was GSE Team Leader and Australia, in addition to attending almost all District Conferences until he became too sick. He was a great hockey and baseball fan. Last April he threw out the first ball at the opening Chiefs game.
Donations may be made to Eastwood Rotary Foundation. P.O. Box 172, Syracuse, New York 13206. All money received in his name will go to RYLA.
We lost a good one. He will be missed.

Summary Notes of March 10th Meeting... by Ward
Your Board of Directors met last Thursday, Mar. 10th and the following is a summary of discussions points and resolutions.
SRF Review - Kathy Crelot reviewed the Skaneateles Rotary Foundation's income & expenses, YTD. Excellent report, and we are in good shape!
International Women's Day Event - Was an astounding success, with $1,000 raised for the St. Joseph Hospital Breast Care & Surgery Unit.
Pancake Breakfast Equipment Storage - Chuck Williams discussed an idea of storing the grills and equipment on site at the Arena. He will take it up with Chuck O'Neil and the Pancake Breakfast Committee. Some excellent ideas, if acceptable.
Boys State - The Board approved the support of a local youth to attend Boy's State this summer, which is supported and coordinated by the American Legion.
Fund Raising - Prez. Cheryl presented an idea for additional fund raising in our community. She will work with Jim McQuiggan and a few others to work out the details and bring it back to the Board for approval at the April meeting.
YMCA - The Board approved a contribution to the Community Support Campaign of the Skaneateles YMCA and Community Center.

Special Guest & Paul Harris Fellow recognition - President Cheryl reminded everybody that next week we have a special guest our Rotary International Director Jennifer Jones. Our special guest will help us celebrate several of our member's achievements & contributions toward their Paul Harris Fellow recognitions.
International Women's Day Event - Roberta Williams briefly recapped last week's extremely successful International Woman's Day. In just 2 years this event has become so successful that we may have to seek a larger venue next year. We had a sellout crowd of 93 attendees & turned away more than 30 people seeking tickets. We netted almost a thousand dollars. Roberta praised Amy Tormey & the event's committee for their excellent work.
The Manor - Our speaker Steve Frackenpohl opened his presentation with a brief history of "the Manor" The Manor was established in 1964 through the generosity of Marian & Don Dixon. After being renovated in 1975, it was turned over to the First Presbyterian Church of Skaneateles. Today the Manor is part of the non-profit mission of the Church & operated by an independent board of directors. Steve described the many attractive features the Manor offers to our "well elderly" population. he Manor has 6 beautiful suites & offers many options for meals. The Manor is ideally located in the heart of our scenic downtown. Best of the Manor offers all of these amenities at very affordable prices.

OUR 2015-16 ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE
LONG TERM EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Outbound - The 2015-16 Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound students have departed for a year as exchange students abroad. Sofia Darovskikh, to Finland, and Zach Driscoll to Germany. We wish them all the best on their "adventure of a lifetime".
Inbound - student have moved to their second host families: Vincent , from France, hosted by Jessica & Tom Wingfield, and Daniela from Chile, hosted by Shelly & Marc Strang.
SHORT TERM EXCHANGE PROGRAM (STEP)
Hope Glowacki has spent a few weeks in Sicily, Italy and her host sister, Irene returned with her to Skaneateles for a few weeks.
Adrianna Marshall traveled to Thuringia, Germany and his host sister, Constanze, returned to Skaneateles for an exchange.
