Alice Purdy vacationed in Florida, last month, with her family, took the opprotunity to visit the Cocoa Beach Rotary Club, where she met some interesting Rotarians and shared her Rotary experiences with other. There are over 35,000 Rotary Clubs in the world that you can pick from to visit on your next trip or vacation. There are hundreds on display at our Pancake Breakfast. Banner - Prior to dinner Alice Purdy presented President Cheryl with a Rotary Pennant from Cocoa Beach. Alice vacationed in Cocoa Beach & went to a Rotary meeting there instead of going to Disney World.
Membership Spring Fling - Amy Tormey encouraged all of our members to invite a few friends to our Skaneateles Rotary Club Spring Fling on Thursday May 19th , at 6:00PM, in the beautiful Welch Allyn Lodge. Music will be provided by the popular Loren Barriganger. There will be a buffet dinner, all for only $32. Amy thanked Jim McQuiggan for getting lodge for this event. Amy stressed that this is sure to be fun for our members, our friends & for potential members.
Rotary Foundation - Bill Buterbaugh congratulated our members for exceeding our contribution goals for the Rotary Foundation & for Polio Plus. Bill noted that there are still 24 members who have not contributed> A major goal for our club & for all clubs is to have all club members contribute to the Foundation{Every Rotarian Every Year]. To meet this goal Bill encouraged all of members to make even a minimal contribution of $5-$10 to the Foundation as an act of club solidarity.
Robin McLennan - President Cheryl noted that Brad McLennan's mom Robin died recently. Robin's wake is in the Grey Funeral Home on Friday May 7th.
New Members Induction - With "great pride & enthusiasm" Membership Chair Amy Tormey formerly initiated & welcomed our newest member Chris Cheney into our club. For the initiation ceremony Roberta Williams stood in for Chris Cheney's sponsor & mentor Jean Sardino. Amy presented Chris with a Rotary Plaque & Certificate. Amy told Chris he already has a job for our Pancake Breakfast.
Pancake Breakfast Kick-off Meeting - After dinner Chuck O'Neill kicked off our 2016 Father's Day Breakfat by briefly recapping last year's results. Last year we sold almost 2800 breakfasts & we netted almost $15,000. Chuck reviewed the schedule for this year's June 19th Breakfast. On Friday morning June 1 7th we will draw the breakfast equipment from Dave Lee's barn & set it up in the Allyn Arena. On Saturday morning we will finish setting up. The breakfast starts at 7:30 AM & runs until 1:00. On Monday morning we will complete tearing down the equipment 7 taking it to David Lee's for storage. Chuck went over the key areas of responsibilities for the set up & operation of the breakfast. Our Pre-event ticket sales Chair John Moran distributed books of tickets for all of our members. John stressed the importance of pre-event ticket sales for ensuring a successful event. Last year we presold almost $11,000 worth of tickets. If the weather turns sour, pre-event ticket sales become even more critical. John noted that in addition to Tops we will be selling tickets in SECNY, Rolands, the Chamber of Commerce & the Dump. Chuck O'Neill noted that for the first time we will be selling real maple syrup at the breakfast. Chuck pointed out that our Father's Day Breakfast is a major community event. By pulling together we can make this year's breakfast one of our best ever.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST - SAVE THE DATE!.....

Believe it or not, the annual Father's Day Pancake Breakfast is only 10 weeks away! Father's Day this year is June 19th, so please mark that date in ink on your calendar, as well as Friday, June 17th AM and Saturday, June 18th AM for set-up, and Monday, June 20th AM afterwards for tear down. This year will mark our 48th consecutive year holding our Club's biggest fund raising event and we need every Rotarian to participate to insure its continued success! Our event has raised cumulatively over $500,000 since our first Breakfast in 1968, adjusted for inflation! So please schedule to be in town that weekend to help out at this "fun filled" community event! This service project, which supports many worthy causes, only works if every Rotarian makes a full commitment!

OUR 2015-16 ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE
LONG TERM EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Outbound - The 2015-16 Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound students have departed for a year as exchange students abroad. Sofia Darovskikh, to Finland, and Zach Driscoll to Germany. We wish them all the best on their "adventure of a lifetime".
Inbound - student have moved to their third host families: Vincent , from France, hosted by Mike & Mary Hearn, and Daniela from Chile, hosted by Alice & Gerry Purdy.
SHORT TERM EXCHANGE PROGRAM (STEP)
Hope Glowacki has spent a few weeks in Sicily, Italy and her host sister, Irene returned with her to Skaneateles for a few weeks.
Adrianna Marshall traveled to Thuringia, Germany and his host sister, Constanze, returned to Skaneateles for an exchange.
