LAST WEEK- Feb 11th, 2021 ... by Mary
Membership/Attendance: 52 Active members attending
Guests: Major Charles Roberts, Salvation Army and program speaker
The Beginnings - The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and and inspirational message read by Tyler.
The Program - Suzette introduced Major Charles Roberts from the Salvation Army in Syracuse. Major Roberts told us about the important safety net that the Salvation Army provides to people in Onondaga County and beyond. Programs number over forty and the population served includes adults, children, homeless, families, expecting mothers and more. As with most organizations the Salvation Army had to make many modifications to its programs due to COVID, but has been able to continue to provide all of the services that were provided pre-COVID. The Salvation Army partners with many other community organizations. Major Roberts answered a number of questions from members and thanked us for our annual holiday bell ringing saying that we were "the army behind the Army."
