Sherwood Rotary Meal Plan - Sam Mason, manager or the Sherwood has emailed me the new meal plan. Sam said that if there was an entrée that was not liked by us he would strike it from the rotation. I personally cannot think of one. Let me know if there is something you would like off the list and if there are several people who dislike that dish we will do away with it.
When I arrive at the Sherwood I will ask the wait staff what is being served that evening, and will inform the greeters. When you arrive, if you don't like or cannot eat that evening’s meal you will have the following choices:
Grilled Chicken Breast with vegetable of the day and choice of our house rice, mashed potatoes or au gratin potatoes.
or
Sherwood Entrée Salad either plain, or with grilled chicken breast or grilled portabello mushroom.
I will print the choices out and a copy will be on the greeters table. It will be your responsibility to let the wait staff know of the alternative meal as early possible. This way you will not have to wait as long to be served.
It will not be practical for the Sherwood to offer a fish entrée because the fish is usually delivered on Fridays.
Thank you for your patience as we make this transition.
THEY HAVE ARRIVED... by Ward
Lee Bennett announced last week that our 2015-16 Youth Exchange students have arrived and settling in for with host families for the school year in our community. They are: Daniela, from Chile, and Vincent form France. They were unable to attend the meeting with Lee as they were both involved in school sport practices that evening. Help make this a memorable year for them, by seeking them out, inviting them to your homes and local events. Daniela is hosted by Charley & Kim Driscoll, and Vincent host family is Ceceilla & Rod Stabile.
CLAMS & CORN ... by Ward
Many of our members and their family members and friends volunteered their time to serve of clams & corn at the Fireman's Carnival. They CLAM EVENT volunteers, organized each year by Rotarian Jack Hyatt, to give a lending hand to the volunteer Fireman, who manage the parking, each year, at our Father's Day Pancake Breakfast. Thanks go out to those who pitched in this year for a CLAMY, CORNY & FUN time at the carnival. Picture is Rotarian Kathy Crelot, at the ready to serve!

Heather Paris - Bill Conole introduced our speaker who is a best selling author, a successful family life coach and motivational youth speaker. Heather went to high school in Romulus & now lives in Port Byron with her husband Thad and her 6 children. Bill noted that Heather is a member of the Auburn Rotary club and is passionate about service. Heather also walks on FIRE! Heather opened her presentation by noting that her book “Live Inspired Now.” Heather was recently nominated for the best Local Author Award & Best of Syracuse Award for 2015.
Heather explained the approaches she uses to change people’s moods. Heather briefly reviewed her mood changing techniques by running a mini work shop for us. Heather & Thad conduct workshops where they inspire people to overcome their inhibitions & fears & o literally “walk on fire’. Heather teaches people to change their state of mind . Heather stressed that excellence in nothing more than a learned habit. Heather & Thad’s workshop is located on Haiti Island in Port Byron. Their next seminar & “walk on fire’ is scheduled for Sept 19th. This seminar will focus on:1 how to deal with & how to shed distractions—2-How to change make your language more positive—3-How to physiologically & to bring your mind & body into focus –Heather noted that she & Thad have helped hundreds of people improve their lives through their programs. Heather encouraged our members to join her for a “walk on fire”

Our 50/50 Winner - Consortium of' Bill S., Ward, Dave P., and Roy .. Deal was; they would split the pot, after $150 was pulled out for a pallet-kit for BFTW, if they pulled the queen of spades. However, Ward pulled the Jack of Diamonds .... so .... their 25% of the nite's take went into the consortium table's RF cup.
ANNUAL CLUB PICNIC ... by Karen Price
Mark your calendar for Sept. 24th, 6 to 8 PM - The Annual Pancake Breakfast Thank you and Incoming Youth Exchange Welcome event is to be held at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. This is a family/spouse/guest event. Planned menu is: pulled pork, chix, for non pork eaters, salt potatoes, beans and hopefully the caterer's wonderful corn bread. We ask our Rotarians to bring an appetizer. Thanks to Karen Price for once again chairing the event.
NOTE that there is to be no alcohol at this event, so please do not bring any beer, wine or other spirits.

Outbound - The 2015-16 Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound students are departing this summer for a year as exchange students abroad. Sofia Darovskikh, going to Finland, and Zach Driscoll is off to Germany. We wish them all the best on their "adventure of a lifetime".

Hope Glowacki has spent a few weeks in Sicily, Italy and her host sister, Irene returned with her to Skaneateles for a few weeks.
Adrianna Marshall traveled to Thuringia, Germany and his host sister, Constanze, returned to Skaneateles for an exchange.
