The first drawing of the Club 200 fund raising raffle occurred last week ... and the winner ... were (drum roll here) ... Chuck O'Neil and Roy MacDonald.
200 Tickets at $20 each are being sold to members, friends & neighbors between now and October when 10 tickets (2 per week) will be drawn weekly with the winners receiving $50 each. The winning tickets will be recycled into the draw-bin for next drawing on the same day or following weeks. So ..... multiple chances to win on a single ticket or even twice in on same day, if your luck is really running high.
The whole event ends on Nov 16th, with two tickets will be drawn for $250 & $500. The two $50 draw dates are: Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26 & Nov 2, and the $250 & $500 tickets will be drawn on Nov 16. ... and ... you do not have to be present to win!
IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO PARTICIPATE - Cheryl Silvestrini still has the tickets for sale over. Do not miss out on this opprotrunity as it is limited to 200 tickets.
This is fun way for our Club to raise up $2,750 to use for worthy causes throughout the year. We can only make the maximum amount ($2,750) if ALL 200 tickets are sold. The key is for ALL members to participate in selling (and buying) tickets.

Cheryl Matt, of the Dewitt Rotary Club has been proposed by the D7150 Nominating Committee as DGND for 2017-18 Rotary year. Barring any qualified challenge within 14 days, she will be selected as our District Governor for the 2020-21 Rotary Year.
Cheryl has been a member of Rotary since 1994 and a past president of Baldwinsville & Dewitt Rotary Clubs. She currently serves as an Assistant Governor, a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute, and multiple PH Fellow. Cheryl's professional career has been with the US Postal Service, and is a long standing member (1994 - present) of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States (NAPUS).

Bob Greene and Randy Stockweather gave a great overview of the Laker Limo services. They are always looking for volunteers so keep them in mind. And, remember that Laker Limo is a great community resource that is there for us if we need it.
Reflecting on the tragedy in Las Vegas this week, let's all try to extend a special act of kindness in our days to make the world a better place for everyone.

BOCES - Nov. 9,2017 Meeting in Cayuga Onondaga BOCES Building AUBURN—President Mary passed around a list so members can sign up for this meeting. Mary read the planned menu for the dinner. (see below)
CHRISTMAS BENEFIT - Dec. 7, 2017m Christmas Benefit at Skaneateles Country Club. Mary announce that Cheryl agreed to chair this year’s event. This major fundraising event is only 9 weeks away.
Puerto Rico Relief - Mary read a letter from DG Danks & a Rotarian from Puerto Rico about sending relief to the beleaguered island. Rotary will soon provide more information on how we can provide aid.
THE PROGRAM
Laker Limo - Mary introduced Bob Greene & Randy Stockweather from Laker Limo. Bob is President of the Laker Limo Board & Randy is the Operations Director. Bob presented a brief history of Laker Limo which was funded 14 years ago. Laker Limos mission is to provide transportation services to the elderly & disabled in the Town of Skaneateles. Currently, Laker Limo has 86 volunteers who function as drivers & escorts. Bob stressed that more volunteers are needed & always welcome. Bob pointed out the many positive aspects of volunteering. Drivers & escorts receive training on how to safely transport elderly & disabled passengers.
Bob expressed his appreciation to the Town of Skaneateles for their support. The town enables Laker Limo to purchased insurance & gas at reduced rates. The Town allows Laker Lino to park in their garage. Laker Limo is supported by 2 major fund raisers. Laker Limo charges riders a modest fee ranging from $2 - $5 per ride. Volunteers drive or escort one day per month.
Randy Stockweather ably coordinates the scheduling for Laker Limo. Laker Limo has 2 transport vehicles. The lager bus has 10 passenger seats & 2 secure wheelchair set ups. The smaller vehicle carries 6 passengers. Volunteers only need a NYS Drivers License to drive a Laker Limo van. Bob & Randy are justifiable proud how Laker Limo has grown over the years. Bob urged everyone to consider volunteering for this most worthwhile service.

MEETING at CAYUGA ONONDAGA BOCES
The SRC's November 9th meeting will be held at the Cayuga Onondaga BOCES facility, in Aubrn. The culinary students will be preparing dinner for us and there will be a tour afterwards. The menu will be:
Fall salad with roasted pumpkin seeds, cheddar cheese oven cured tomatoes, red onion and maple vinaigrette
Salmon Picatta with lemon blanc sauce
Chicken cordon bleu
Herb roasted red potatoes
Root vegetable medley
Chocolatte mousse tarts with fresh berries
The cost of dinner is $20 and we will need to have a count of those that will be going. As the date draws closer I'll send a sign up sheet over for your club and let you know what time.
