March 19, 2026 Meeting
Andy Stevens opened the meeting by leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Andy welcomed our guests, Tom Billone and Red Cross speakers Lisa Smith and Kevin LaGrow.
The following are announcements:
Andy thanked Brad for filling in for him at our last regular meeting.
Andy also thanked Lee and Rosemary for cohosting the Happy Hour on March 12th.
No meeting on March 26th. The next regular meeting is April 2nd which will feature Andrew Lunetta from Tiny Homes for Good. Also, we will be welcoming two new members, Tom and Lorena Billone.
Reminder that there is also a BOD meeting at 5:00 on Thursday, April 2nd.
Lisa Smith from the American Red Cross was introduced. She told us of the Red Cross's beginnings stemming from the US Civil War. The Red Cross is a global organization providing several lines of service including humanitarian services, blood services and training services. The Red Cross is chartered by Congress (and has miraculously survived over the last 13 months). Lisa told us about how the Red Cross serves our military and is involved in providing services for disasters which are more numerous and different than in the past. Lisa introduced Kevin LaGrow who volunteers with the Red Cross. Kevin and his spouse became involved when Kevin retired. There a number of ways to volunteer and if you are interested you may contact Lisa at lisa.smith8@redcross.org.
The Board of Directors approved membership applications for Thomas and Lorena Billone. Thomas and Lorena live in the Village and are sponsored by Ed Evans. We've met them at a number of meetings as guests of Ed. If there are no objections, Thomas and Lorena will be inducted on April 2nd.
