Chuck Williams spoke about his 2007 trip to Sudan to set up a medical clinic. As a young boy in Auburn Chuck learned about printing by working with and observing skilled printers. Growing up in Auburn Chuck also participated in many rugged body strengthening activities and sports . As a result Chuck developed a strong constitution that in later life inured him to Sudan s extreme heat and tropic environment. This helped Chuck set up a medical clinic operation in Sudan in 2007 that is still in operation.

CNY Books for the World Update
Since its inception in Skaneateles Rotary and its introduction of the CNY BFTW project at PDG Larry's conference in 2008, 386 pallet-kits have been completed snf 5 kits in process across five CNY districts In our district 7150, 44 Rotary & Interact clubs have participated along with 22 other individual or community organizations provide support of funds and/or books. Some of the 1st books came from the Skaneateles HS Interact Club and the first pallet organized by the Tully Interact Club.
Since my last BFTW update to you, we have shipped two additional 26 pallet loads and have a half load in our Bossong's warehouse space. The project had a strong end-of year with extra kudos to our Eastern 9 clubs, working for banding together under the leadership of Roger Skinner, supplied 12 pallets in the last half of the year. Also to the other clubs that participated in 2014. We are looking forward continued success in 2015. In 2014 we processed 51 pallets (6 - Dist 7040, 17 - Dist 7150 & 28 - Dist 7170).
I just returned from the Rotarian BFTW, Booklegger's Summit in Houston, Tx, where the various USA Rotary managed book collection centers, similar to CNY BFTW, met and shared ideas, successes and challenges. A major highlight is that PDG's and DGE's from South Africa and Pakistan were in attendance and shared the stories and successes of their Rotarian managed BFTW distribution centers. Lot's of good news and feedback coming from that way. Also, kudos to CNY BFTW for quality and packaging of books. Our customers (the Children of the World) are being well served by our continued efforts.
Lastly, but certainly not the least, our hardworking and active CNY BFTW committee met last evening and made the decision to reduce the CNY BFTW per pallet fee to $150. This is a direct result of recently reduced transportation and other costs. Contact at: wardtv37@mac.com with our inquires and pallet-kit orders.
Be courteous & please get a replacement if you won’t be available for your assignment!
