PRESIDENT'S CORNER ... by Prez Bill
Greetings, Skantarians! - A lovely presentation by our French Rotary Exchange Student, who overcame technical difficulties to speak of her home outside of Marseilles and her experiences thus far in Skaneateles. We also enjoyed the presence of several guests - thank you to those members who invited them, new faces are always welcome. Attendance was light this week, but this was fortunate as we had to relocate to accommodate a large event elsewhere in the Sherwood; again, masterful logistics thanks to Meredith Welch. Enjoy the improving weather and see you next week! Thank you.
YE STUDENTS ON THE MOVE
Elisa is moving to her third and final host family. She will be hosted by Bill & Pat Conole for the rest of her stay with us in Skaneateles.
LAST WEEK: .... by Bill Conole
International Women's Day -  Prior to dinner, Kathy Crelot gave a brief report on the money raised on our club's recent International Women's Day Celebration. The IWD Dinner was a great success & raised several thousand dollars that will be contributed to the Alzheimer's Campaign in our April 6th meeting.
Youth Exchange Student - Our exchange student from France Elisa Riaud began her presentation by explaining that the stirring French National Anthem "Le Marseille" had it's origin in her home town of Marseille. By car Marseille is 10 hours from Paris & is the second largest city in France. Marseille is bustling port city on the Mediterranean Sea. Elisa noted that all of France is beautiful but the Bouches-du-Rhone Department is acclaimed for it's unique beauty.
Elisa has thoroughly enjoyed her stay in stay in Skaneateles. Elisa praised & thanked her first two host families for their gracious hospitality. In France school hours are long & the curriculum focuses entirely on academic subjects. Elisa is very impressed with our Skaneateles High School & finds the teachers much more collegial & open than her French teachers. Elisa loves our American food. Elisa briefly spoke about her family. Elisa feels that her year in Skaneateles has been very interesting & very fulfilling. Elisa noted that, in spite of our frigid weather, everyone in Skaneateles is warm & welcoming. Elisa thanked our Rotary Club for making her American visit possible.

50/50 - Won by Kathy Crelot once again. The elusive Queen of Spades remains concealed in the shrinking deck of cards
Guests - Jean & john Vincent & Chris Peteras and Heather Carroll, host mother.
Attendance - Members attending: 17 at 30% attendance
Current Membership -  57

SAVE THE DATE - While the annual Fathers Day Pancake Breakfast is still many weeks away, it is time to save the date on our calendars. Fathers Day this year is June 18th, so please mark that date in ink on your calendar, as well as the Friday AM and Saturday AM before for set-up, and Monday AM afterwards for tear down. This year will mark our 49th consecutive year holding our Club's biggest fund raising event, and we need every Rotarian to participate to insure its continued success!  ... Thanks, Mary
