LAST WEEK - Jul 30, 2020 ... by Mary Membership/Attendance: - 49 Active members - 21 attending. Guests: Alec Osieki (prospective member). Program: President Dave opened the meeting by welcoming our new member Roemary Mondo, our incoming member Jason Armijo and our guest (and hopefully new member) Alec Osiecki. Our "outdoor-socially distanced-mask wearing" meeting was once again planned and executed by Ed E, Robin and Bill B.  Future meetings were discussed. The next meeting will be a Zoom meeting and future Zoom meetings will include classification talks by members so that we can get to know each other better. Format of future meetings was also discussed and there will be some research into possibly resuming meetings at the Sherwood in the future with a Zoom option for members that opt not to attend in person. Lee Bennett conveyed greetings from fellow club member Karen Price. Karen is thinking of us all. Tyler Lorey then inducted our newest member, Jason Armijo. Jason is sponsored by Tyler and we welcome him enthusiastically. Tyler also presented Rosemary with her pin and plaque. Rosemary was our first Zoom inductee. Thanks to Ed, Robin and Bill for organizing the meeting which was enjoyed by all! |

At their July 30th meeting, the Skaneateles Rotary Club inducted their newest member, Jason Armijo. Jason's trade is carpentry and lives in Skaneateles with wife, Katie, and children. He is a member of David Lee's extended family and has been a helping hand at a number of pancake breakfasts in the past. An interest note: Jason found John Packwood's (early owner of the Sherwood Inn, and local carriage builder) signature while restoring the stains at the Sherwood. 
Rotary's first-ever virtual convention attracted more than 60,000 registrants and 175,000 viewers during its weeklong program. The robust participation shows that Roary members are finding ways to experience fellowship and fun, key parts of Rotary' annual international convention, despite the COVID-19 pandemic that forced the cancellation of the in-person convention planned for Honolulu, Hawaii, this year.
DISTRICT 7150
DG Cheryl has informed me that the previously planned 2020 District 7150 Conference for this Fall has been will be a virtual on-line event due to the COVID-19 challenges. It will occur on October 17th and the virtual venue and details will be available soon.
