Last evening our Board of Directors met and decided that Club meetings, including our March Happy Hour, will be suspended until April due to the coronavirus situation. Although this may seem an "over reaction" we feel that it is better to err on the side of caution to protect all members but especially those who may have underlying health conditions that put them at higher risk. We will keep you posted on this situation but as of right now we expect that our meetings will resume Thursday, April 2nd.

Skaneateles Rotarians Continues to
Give Generously to The Rotary Foundation
Our membership continues to make significant contributions to The Rotary Foundation during this Rotary year to support the many Rotary Foundation's life saving and life-changing projects through out our world.
We have met and exceeded both our Annual Giving (AG) and PolioPlus (PP) goals by 169% and 508%. respectively. That's $8,640 Annual Giving and $10,151 for PoloEradication for a Total of $18,791 as of 3/14/20. With the 2 for 1 Gates Foundation match, that amounts to $30,453 for Polio Eradication.
That's the good news! Now for the challenge - Of our 49 members, 28 have participated, which leaves us with 21 members more to participate if we reach RF Chair, Bill Buterbaugh's Every Rotary Every Year goal. We also have matching club funds for the next 5 donors. So ... if you have not done so yet, please consider a gift to The Rotary Foundation yet this Rotary year. Mary welcome - the three prospective members.
Birth Announcement - James and Francesca Wanamaker are celebrating the birth of baby girl, Lydia. Good wishes were raised to our new Future Rotarian. It was noted that this is the first time in 20 years that a SRC member has celebrated a new born son or daughter; the last being Duane Weaver's daughter, Magen. Wow, how time flies.

Meetings Canceled - for the remainder of March in consideration of the Coronavirus issues, which include: March 19, March 24th Happy Hour and the March 26th meetings Watch our website and newsletter for future notices on our schedules. In addition, and email will be distributed by co-Prez Mary explaining the situation and reasoning for this decision.

The SRC BOD met Mar 12, 2020 and following are the summary bullets of that meeting.
Minutes of the February meeting - were not available for approval.
Financials - Club Skaneateles Foundation financials were reviewed by Mary in Marv's absence. We remain in excellent financial stead.
Worthy Cause - Funds were approved for: The MOST of Syracuse & Annual Duck Derby sponsorship.
Rotary Foundation giving YTD - was reviewed (see notice above) the giving has exceeded our goals, but we have a smaller percentage of our membership participating as in the past. Bill B. to send our reminders to the nonparticipants.
InteractClub Status - Bill Conole & John Gilly, of the SSRC, met with the High School principle to discuss the future of the club. More to come on this.
Global Grant - Our district has committed $5,000 DDF to the Moon Catcher grant we voted to support at our Feb. meeting.
Multi-club District Grant - to support a Baltimore Woods project progress was reviewed by Dale Drake. He has a few more clubs to contact.
New Member update - We have two in the wings ready to join and one coming to check us out this evening. {watch us grow!}
Service Projects - Additional Opportunities discussed, which included: Volunteers for ; Mother's Day at Sycamore Woods; moving and setting up tables for the Annual Sale to the former fire hall; & April tree planting at Baltimore Woods.
New Future Rotarian - James and Francesca new baby, Lydia, celebrated with approval of a gift for our Future Rotarian.
Initiation Fee - for all future incoming members has been revoked.
Reduced membership fees - for younger members discussed, with no action taken.
Coronavirous - The cancellation of the remaining meeting for the month of march was proposed and approved. The canceled meeting are: Mar 19, Mar 21 Happy Hour & Mar 26. Members will be notified via email and newsletter.
Next meeting - scheduled for April 9th @ 5PM
