PRESIDENTS' CORNER... by Pres., Mary
Dear Fellow Club Members,
We had a good turnout for last evening's Zoom meeting and are planning another one for next week (April 23), Lori Ruhlman won the prize for the farthest attendee. Gard and Tyler Lorey won the prize for multi generational attendees and Dave Lee won the prize for the most enticing background.
We discussed the cancellation of the pancake breakfast and what we can do to make up lost revenue. The idea of selling tickets for a virtual breakfast was discussed and everyone agreed that was worth pursuing. We will be letting the community know about the cancellation in a few weeks so we should start to form a plan. It is on the agenda for next week's meeting.
We also discussed a grant to the CNY Community foundation's COVID 19 Community Support Fund which would be matched on a dollar for dollar basis by the Syracuse Rotary Club. Members agreed that it should be done and the proposal has been sent to Board members for approval, which was accomplished via email subsequent to the meeting (BOD Approved).
For those of you that are receiving the federal relief check you may want to consider a donation to a charity that is in need at this time. Our fellow club member, Karen Price, is another thought. Karen has begun treatments. She most sincerely appreciates all the help she has received so far. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She has done so much for the youth of our community and our club.
And YES, we will have another Zoom meeting next week Time is 6:30 so please keep an eye out for the email with the link to the meeting. We talked about programs for future meetings and our esteemed program director Bill Conole will be working on that.
So, please stay safe and til we meet again...…... Mary
