THIS WEEK:
Skaneateles YMCA & Community Center Update ... Dorothea Hughes, Branch Exec-Dir.
PRESIDENT BILL'S CORNER ... by Prez Bill Huba
This past week we were honored with a visit from Rotary District 7150 Governor Peter F. Cardamone (Tully) and Area 6 Assistant Governor Colleen Weibel (Moravia). Peter was introduced by Colleen and proceeded to give an overview of Rotary International and where our District and member clubs fit in the big picture. An update was provided re polio eradication efforts funded by Polio Plus and how close the world is to this goal (see below). Peter encouraged Rotarians to attend the 2017 District Conference in Saratoga and to consider the 2017 RI Convention in Atlanta (see ads and links below). Local issues were discussed and Peter was gracious enough to entertain some Q&A; no small feat given this was his third Rotary Club visit of he day! Thank you, District Governor Cardamone and Assistant Governor Weibel for your attendance.
POLIO ERADICATION UPDATE ... by Ward
DG Peter announce, during his visit last week,  that the eradication of Polio is close and may be announced by Rotary in this Rotary year.  He noted that it will be 3 more years beyond the last case of polio that the world can be certified as Polio free; hence, a continued need for the funding of continued vaccination and monitoring during that period.  This will be the second deceased ever to be eradicated in our world's history; Small Pox being the first.  Rotarians; Stand Tall for your 32 years of commitment to this humanitarian cause!

200 CLUB - Fund Raiser ... by Cheryl
It may not be as exciting as cracking eggs or flipping pancakes, but the 200 Club Raffle is an easy way to raise money to benefit community and youth groups.
Here’s how it works:  we sell 200 tickets at $20 each totaling $4,000.  We give away $1500 in prizes which leaves us with $2500 to use for worthy causes.  We will sell tickets throughout July and August.  Two $50 prizes will be drawn at our Club Meetings on 9/1, 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, and 9/29.  On 10/6, we will draw a $250 winner, as well as the $750 Grand Prize winner.  Also, all weekly winners will be put back into the raffle and be eligible for the Grand Prize!
We need to sell all 200 tickets for this raffle to make it work as outlined, so please consider selling at least 5 tickets to family, friends, co-workers, etc. – and don’t forget to buy your own!  Cheryl will have tickets available at all weekly meetings.  If paying by check, please make payable to Skaneateles Rotary Foundation.  Be sure the contact information is completed on the ticket and give that portion of the ticket to Cheryl along with ticket money/checks.
Thank you to everyone who already bought tickets, as well as picked up tickets to sell.
