PRESIDENTS' CORNER ... by Pres., Mary Giroux
Last week we enjoyed a bountiful table of appetizers followed by a delicious spread of late summer picnic fixings.  Most importantly we shared an evening of fellowship with friends and family members as a "thank you" for all of the hard work put in on the pancake breakfast.  Kashyap and Eduarda, our new exchange students and their host families were warmly welcomed by Gard Lorey.  Thanks to Karen Price and her great team of student volunteers for all the work they did in putting on the dinner and to Gard Lorey and the youth exchange team for all they do to make the program a success!
See you next Thursday.......cooler weather and rain predicted!
LAST WEEK: .... by Bill Conole
Thanks - to many Rotarians & our volunteer friends, our Annual Club Picnic was a big success.
YE from the past - Two exchange students from the 2011-12 class, Geraldine Vollman from Switzerland, & Diane Bermudez from Venezuela came for a visit to Skaneateles to attend a wedding & came to our picnic. Geraldine & Diane were warmly greeted by their many Rotarian friends.
Volunteers Thanked - President Mary welcomed expressed her thanks to our 80+ Rotarians, their guests & our pancake breakfast volunteers to the picnic.
Our 2017-18 YE Students - Gard Lorey introduced our new exchange students; Kashyap Lalwala from India & Eduarda Honorato de Freita from Brazil. Kashyap is being hosted by Steve & Sandi Frackenpohl.  Eduarda is being hosted by Tom & Jesse Wingfield.
The Feast - Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Tom Benedict. Karen recruited 4 hardworking & sharp young ladies from SCHS to serve our guests. The 4 volunteers were:Jenna Fields, Racheal Morris, Kathryn Nicholson, & Shane Rutledge. Kudos to Karen Price for smoothly & ably coordinating this gala event. A drawing was held for the table centerpiece flowers.
Winners, all - The lucky Winfield family won 3 centerpiece arrangements. As always this picnic was an enjoyable evening of fun & fellowship for everyone.
Pictures - CLICK HERE or go to our website's Photo Albums to view the many pictures of the event.  If you have pictures of the event that you would like to share on the web, send to Ward at wardtv37@mac.com

WHAT PAUL HARRIS MIGHT HAVE SAID?
“I am wishing a Happy Birthday to Dave, Chuck, John, Jean, Jack & Ward."
FIRST DAWING OCT 5 - CLUB 200 FUND RAISER
200 Tickets at $20 each are be sold to members, friends & neighbors between now and October when 10 tickets (2 per week) will be drawn weekly with the winners receiving $50 each.  The winning tickets will be recycled into the draw-bin for drawings the following weeks.   So ..... multiple chances to win on a single ticket.
The whole event ends on Nov 16th, with two tickets will be drawn for $250 & $500.  The $200 draw dates are:  Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26 & Nov 2, and the $250 & $500 tickets will be drawn on Nov 16.
Cheryl Silvestrini will have the tickets for sale over August & September.   Do not miss out on this opprotrunity  as it is limited to 200 tickets.
This is fun way for our Club to raise up $2,750 to use for worthy causes throughout the year.  We can only make the maximum amount ($2750) if ALL 200 tickets are sold.  The key is for ALL members to participate in selling (and buying) tickets.
