PRESIDENTS' CORNER ... by Pres., Mary Giroux
Guests - Last evening we had a number of guests.  From the Fulton Club:  Nancy Ellis, Charrise Kidd, Helen Hoefer & Lori Greeney.  Ours was the final club to complete their Passport to Fellowship.  Congratulations Fulton!  Terry McCormick was visiting from the Minneapolis University Club and our speaker, Angela Gaige also had a connection to Rotary as she was an exchange student to Japan.
Conference - The District Conference in Corning NY is April 27-29 and the District training Assembly is April 4th.  See additional registration information in this newsletter.
Newsletter Contest - Ward began his new "newsletter contest", a periodic question about newsletter content.  Last evening a beautifully crafted pen was awarded.
The Program - Angela Gaige, Director of Education at the Milton J Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology, also known as "The MOST", told us about their various programs.  Programs and exhibits are geared toward all ages and a lot of outreach to communities is taking place to reach as many youth as possible.  The MOST also has special exhibits that change throughout the year.
50/50 - Cathy Powell was the lucky winner of 50-50, however the elusive Queen of Spades remains in the deck.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"I see life as both a gift and a responsibility.  My responsibility is to use what God has given me to help his people in need." .... by Millard Fuller, Founder of Habitat for Humanity.

AskWard  .... If you have a question about Rotary or the club, CLICK HERE to ask Ward, and he will either provide the correct answer, direct to the proper source for the anwser ..... or make something up, when all else fails.
Question: What is one way to grow a Rotary Club in Community and International service.?
Answer:  When Rotarians roll up their sleeves and work together to share the weekly and operational tasks of the club "Club Service", they are better equipped to work together for "Community Service", and "World Service"'  In short, "Service Above Self".  So, look around to see what you can do in Club Service, to help build and grow our club in service to our community and world.
THE SKANTARIAN READER'S QUIZ
To encourage Skantarians to read their club's weekly Skantarian, from time to time, Ward will quiz the membership on the current week's newsletter and those with the correct answers may participate in a draw for a hand crafted wine stopper or pen that week.  So...... read on, and glean the local and Rotary news and information included in your club's newsletter.  See ye at the draw.   ..... Ward
400+ TEENS FOR COMMUNITY ACTION
April 19, PDG Deb Glisson will be at our club to tell us about the 400+ teens coming to CNY to preform home repairs for elderly, low-income and/or disabled families on June 24 to 30.
So ..... mark your calendars for April 19, and find out about this community service project and teens at work to build better communities!
