NOTICE of NOTE - Christmas Fund Raiser this week.  See you at the Skaneateles Country Club.
Work'n up an Appetite for Thanksgiving Dinner with Books - 12 Rotarians & a perspective Rotarian from the Auburn, Skaneateles & Tully Rotary Clubs worked together to sort and pack high school text books from the Jordan Eldridge high school last Wednesday and will return to complete the job of a 4 pallet project this week. Excellent books, good fellowship, and a great job done by all. These four pallets will complete another 26 pallet semi-truck load of books from CNY Books for the World destined for the children of the world.
The Little Project that Thought It Could - The 'little project that thought it could' started in the Skaneateles Rotary Club eight years ago with 4 cartons of children's books destined for children in South Africa has just received it's non-profit status from the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization.  It was incorporated last Spring into CNY BFTW, Inc., has shipped some 24+ forty-foot sea containers of text and children's books to the children of the world, and continues to grow in Central New York.  One little project grew from a few books to a meaningful international literacy effort, supported through the efforts of Rotarians in more that 120 clubs across CNY through the efforts of focused and dedicated Rotarians.
Annual Christmas Fund Raiser, December 3rd  The Skaneateles Rotary Club’s annual Christmas fund raiser will be held on Thursday December 3rd at the Skaneateles Country Club. We will begin with a happy hour at 6 PM followed by a family style turkey dinner at 7 PM. Tickets are $25.  Contact Jack Hyatt for reservations.
Don't Forget - the organizing committee needs fellow Rotarian support in coming up with raffle prizes. The goal is to have at least 50% of attendees win a prize. While local merchants and professionals will be canvassed again this year for prize donations, all Rotarians are also being asked to donate prizes such as a bottle of wine, a gift card, etc. Please let Roy McDonald know in advance of the event what you will be bringing in the way of a prize. Even if you can’t attend the event, please contribute a raffle prize.
RING THE BELL - Our Salvation Army Kettle project, at the Tops Market commences Friday, December 4th.  The schedule can be found on our website by going the the Site Pages on the left side of the Home page. If you have not yet had an opportunity to sign-up for a time slot, contact John Moran.  A great project that supports those in our community in need .... and .... to meet and greet your Skaneateles friends, while providing Service Above Self while serving your community.  Check the schedule ..... by Ward
