Skaneateles Bookleggers - Seven Skaneateles Rotarian Bookleggers and on HS Student sorted and packed 22 cartons of books at the Skaneateles Middle School Library Wednesday morn, May 3rd. Good books, good volunteers and a good time for a good cause.

COUNTING DOWN OF PANCAKES & Tasks Schedule - While the annual Fathers Day Pancake Breakfast is but month away, it is time to save the date on our calendars. Fathers Day this year is June 18th, so please mark that date in ink on your calendar, as well as the Friday AM and Saturday AM before for set-up, and Monday AM afterwards for tear down. This year will mark our 49th consecutive year holding our Club's biggest fund raising event, and we need every Rotarian to participate to insure its continued success!
Greetings, Skantarians! An excellent meeting last week, recognizing the accomplishments of established members, welcoming new members and kicking off our signature summer event. We had excellent attendance, with more of our winter comrades returning north, and we welcome the opportunity to catch up with them. My first Pancake Breakfast reminder: please get out there and sell as many tickets as you can as soon as possible - we rely on these funds to prime the pump by covering our up-front expenses. Thank you and good luck!

Our club saluted Ward Vuillemot, we launched our 2017 Pancake Breakfast ticket Sales & we welcomed 4 new members to our club.
Lifetime Rotary Achievement Award -Prior to dinner Bill Conole read a stirring tribute to Ward for the Rotary Lifetime Achievement Award he received in the recent District Conference. Chuck O'Neill pointed out that the Rotary Lifetime Achievement Award is rarely given & reserved for Rotarians who have lived a life of exceptional service.
Pancake Breakfast Information & pre-event Ticket Sales - After dinner our Pancake Breakfast Chair, Mary Giroux, recapped last year's successful breakfast & outlined a schedule of tasks that must be done to set up & to conduct this year's Father's Day Breakfast on June 18th (see notice above). Our preeminent ticket sales chair, John Moran, stressed how important it is for members to sell tickets prior to the breakfast. Each member is expected to sell minimally one book of tickets for $160. John then distributed books of tickets to every member.
Four New Members - Amy Tormey club membership chair formally inducted 4 new members into our club. Amy briefly reviewed the 4 Objectives of Rotary & the Rotary Ideals. Our 4 new members are (pictured l-r): Tim Donovan, Jamie Ciaccio, Marv Langley & Kent Slentz. Amy asked the member's sponsors to place a Rotary pin on each new member. Amy presented each new member with a Skaneateles Rotary Club Plaque, hat & apron. In honor of our new members everyone enjoyed delicious desserts.
Kudos to President Bill for ably guiding us through this eventful & memorable evening.

Flag of Honor and Gratitude ... by Ward
To honor and thank Veterans, soldiers, police, firefighters, people who volunteer, family and friends, Onondaga North Rotary club members organize and erect a field of waving American flags on the lawn of Wegmans on Route 57, in Liverpool, for two weeks around Veteran's Day. The flags are purchased at $30 each by individuals, civic groups and businesses.
They had 340 flags up this past yearand hope to have 400 to 450 this year. Great community project to honor great folks!
