PANCAKE BREAKFAST
RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER .....
by Chuck O'Neil, Chair ; Mary Giroux, Vice-Chair
Believe it or not, the annual Father's Day Pancake Breakfast is this coming Sunday! Father's Day this year is June 19th, so please mark that date in ink on your calendar, as well as Friday, June 17th AM and Saturday, June 18th AM for set-up, and Monday, June 20th AM afterwards for tear down. This year will mark our 48th consecutive year holding our Club's biggest fund raising event and we need every Rotarian to participate to insure its continued success! Our event has raised cumulatively over $500,000 since our first Breakfast in 1968, adjusted for inflation! So please schedule to be in town that weekend to help out at this "fun filled" community event! This service project, which supports many worthy causes, only works if every Rotarian makes a full commitment!

CNY Food Bank - Our speaker, Alan Beyel, Director of the CNY Food Bank, opened his presentation by pointing out how the CNY Food Bank directly supports food pantries in an 11 county area in CNY. The CNY Food Bank utilizes i's size and skilled staff to purchase & obtain food products for the many local food banks in our region. Thousands of needy families in Onondaga County & in our area benefit by receiving food provided by the CNY Food Bank. The headquarters for the CNY Food Bank are centrally located in the old Plainville Turkey Plant just off exit 39 on Route 81. Over the past two decades the CNY Food Bank has focused on obtaining nutritious & healthy food for their recipients. The CNY Food Bank also assists people in setting up their own vegetable gardens. With understandable pride Allan noted that the CNY received a 4 Star Rating from the nations largest charity monitoring agency Charity Navigator.  Allan encouraged our members to donate to and to support the worthy efforts of the CNY Food Bank.
Robin Jowaisas pointed out that the proceeds from our Christmas Fundraiser go directly to the food pantries in Spafford & Skaneateles.
