LAST MEETING, Sept 19 …. by Mary Giroux
THE BEGINNING: Former President Mary led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and welcomed our guests:  Julie DiBagio (Board President of The Creamery) and Mark Dengle (Creamery Board Member).
ANNNOUNCEMENTS:
> Duck Dash:  Dillon reminded us that volunteers are needed for the Duck Dash on Saturday, Sept 28th.  Duck numbering will take place on Thursday evening, September 26th.  A sign-up sheet was passed around.

>  Matthews Walkathon:  Bill B told us about our upcoming service project.  It will take place Saturday morning, Oct 5th from 8:30 to 10:00.  All you need to do is sign up and walk a two mile route with fellow club members to earn donations to the Golisano Children's Hospital.  It's that easy and you can enjoy coffee and pastries at The Sherwood at the end of your walk.  A handout was passed to members summarizing the event and providing instructions on how to sign up.
>  Holiday Basket Dinner:  Bill B provided a handout summarizing the event.  It will be held at the Country Club on Thursday, December 5th.  Start to think about filling a table, helping Marv by being a co-chair, helping solicit sponsors and helping with the silent auction.  It "takes a club" to pull the event off!
THE PROGRAM:  We were treated to a tour of The Creamery prior to dinner.  Dan Bangs, Creamery docent, took us through the boat side of the museum where we saw the original Lightening among other historical boats.  Julie DiBagio led us on a tour of the exhibits which tell us about Skaneateles history beginning with Native American residents from 4000 years ago.  Skaneateles is the site of many industries over the years:  Teasel. dairy, chairs, carriages and medical devices to name a few.  The exhibits are very informative, and it is well worth a repeat visit to spend more time.  After dinner Mark Dengler told us about the Skaneateles Historical Society which was founded 90 years ago in 1934.  The Society is the force behind the establishment of The Creamery and is the custodian of many historic artifacts and documents.  Thanks to Dan, Julie and Mark for a very informative evening!
THE ENDING-  Jay led us in the (Four + one) Five Way Test
