Pangolin - The third Saturday in February is World Pangolin Day. First celebrated in 2012, the day is an opportunity to educated people about the unique and relatively unknown mammal. According to pangolins.org, they are “one of the most frequently encountered mammals in the illegal wildlife trade.” Pangolins are highly sought after by Asian poachers because their scales are believed to have medicinal purposes (although the scales are made of keratin), and their meat is considered a delicacy.
