Last Meeting: June 12, 2025 THE BEGINNING: Andy opened the meeting by leading us in the Pledge and welcoming our guests. ANNOUNCEMENTS >Citizen of the Year Award: Mary was presented the Citizen of the Year Award during the meeting! This award is presented to individuals who have shown exceptional service to their community and have volunteered their time without seeking recognition. Congratulations to Mary on all your hard work and dedication to our town! >Happy Birthday: Happy Birthday to Jay Stith! >Next Week: No meeting. Enjoy your rest after the pancake breakfast. >Next Meeting: The next regular meeting and changing of the guard with take place at the American Legion on June 26th. The speaker with be Amanda Duchame who is the executive director of the Skaneateles Education Foundation. THE PROGRAM: Pam Stern introduced Lena, the exchange student from Germany who talked about her experiences this past year in Skaneateleles. Lena grew up in Springe, Germany with her mom and twin brother. She enjoys hanging out with her friends, learning about history, and traveling. Some of the highlights during her time here in Skaneateles included becoming a part of the tennis team, attending homecoming, as well as Senior Ball. She was able to stay with three wonderful host families during her stay here. She was also able to travel to Hawaii, New York City, and Boston with them. Lena said she was so thankful to have this experience and stay with such amazing host families. THE ENDING: Andy led us in the (Four + one) Five Way Test! Andy thanked the Sherwood staff for their hospitality. |
