THIS WEEK ..Thursday, Dec 01, 2016 @ 6:00 PM, The Skaneateles Country Club ..- Annual Skaneateles Rotary Club's Christmas Fund Raiser (see below)
PRESIDENT'S CORNER ... by Prez Bill
Season's Greetings, Skantarians! I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving amongst friends and family. This week I can only reiterate my two messages from last week: our fundraising dinner this coming Thursday can be a success only through teamwork, please work through the committee members if you've a role or a contribution. Second, we have several chairs and leadership positions open, please consider serving. That's it, see you all Thursday! Thank you.
FUNDRAISER PRIZES NEEDED. ... by David Piper
The organizing committee for the Skaneateles Rotary Club annual Christmas fundraiser needs door prizes to ensure that at least 50% of attendees receive a prize. As always , local merchants and professionals are being solicited for prizes, but the committee  needs more prizes to meet its goal. All Rotarians (attendees and those that can't attend ) are asked to provide a door prize  (bottle of wine, gift card, etc).
To enable the commitee to obtain an advanced count of prizes, all donors are being asked to email  Dave Piper(piper97j@yahoo.com) or Roy MacDonald (skantown@gmail.com) ASAP indicating what they plan to donate..
All prizes should be  brought to the Country Club when you arrive  at  the event,or delivered  before the event to the Country Club (any time after 3:30). Dave and Roy will arrange them on tables at the entrance.to the dining room.

Reminder: Each table should designate a carver who should bring a knife, fork, apron and vinyl gloves
Annual Christmas Fund Raiser, December 1st
The Skaneateles Rotary Club’s annual Christmas fund raiser will be held on Thursday December 1st at the Skaneateles Country Club. We will begin with a happy hour at 6 PM followed by a family style turkey dinner at 7 PM. Tickets are $25.  Contact Amy Tormey at tormeyesl@verizon.net for reservations.
Don't Forget - the organizing committee needs our Rotarian's support in coming up with raffle prizes. The goal is to have at least 50% of attendees win a prize. While local merchants and professionals will be canvassed again this year for prize donations, all Rotarians are also asked to donate prizes such as a bottle of wine, a gift card, etc. Please let Roy McDonald or David Piper know in advance of the event what you will be bringing in the way of a prize. Even if you can’t attend the event, please contribute a raffle prize.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
On Christmas Delight- "Christmas was gluing cotton balls to Santa’s beard in Coke ads, sneaking candy canes off the tree daily (that my parents replaced every few nights), enough gift-wrap to wallpaper a room, the terror and delight of knowing a magical being would enter my home while I slept."...Thomm Quackenbush
