New Meeting Schedule!!

Members voted in favor of a new meeting schedule for our club. Starting in August the schedule for meetings within a month is:

First Thursday - Diner meeting with speaker. Meeting starts at 6:30 and ends at 8:00

Second Thursday - Optional attendance at Happy hour from 5:30 to 6:30.

Third Thursday - Diner meeting with speaker. Meeting starts at 6:30 and ends at 8:00

Fourth Thursday - No meeting

Fifth Thursday (when applicable) - Diner meeting with speaker. Meeting starts at 6:30 and ends at 8:00

August dinner meetings will be on the following Thursdays: August 4 and August 18. The Happy Hour meet up will be on Thursday, August 11. Details to follow. With fewer meetings attendance at in person meetings is more important than ever. See you at our next club meeting on July 28th!

PROPOSED MEMBER NOTICE: ... by Mary

The Board of Directors approved Joe Bianculli's membership application via email vote June 29th. Joe is a self employed Pipefitter and lives at 3700 Highland Ave, Skaneateles with his wife, Jennifer. Joe desires to become more involved with his community, has attended several of our meetings. Joe is sponsored by Rotarian Jason Armijo for membership into our Rotary Club

If there are no objections made in writing to the Club Secretary by July 19th, his dues are paid and he has received Skaneateles Rotary and RI Information,Joe will be inducted into our membership at our meeting of July 21st or latter.

Help Wanted!!! July Service Project

What: Help tear down tables, pack leftover books from the Library book sale and move items to storage.

When: Sunday July 24th at 1:00pm

Where: Village bays next to Village Hall on Fennell Street

Membership/Attendance - 39 active members, 13 attending

The Beginnings - Ayham, our new Vice President opened the meeting by leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Program - Lori introduced Sam Quinn, Private Lands Conservation Biologist who is currently with ESF's Restoration Science Center. Sam talked about the "Lawn to Meadow" program. Meadows which are a combination of low growing herbaceous plants are better for the environment. Lawns pose a threat to biodiversity as they cause habitat loss for native species and also require extensive time and resources to maintain. Meadows help protect water quality, reduce soil erosion, enhance habitat for wildlife, save money on lawncare and are a great way to add to the beauty of a property. Additional information about resources available can be found at: Restoration Science Center (esf.edu) Sam answered a number of questions about converting lawns to meadows and resources available.

The Ending - Members recited the Four Way Test and the meeting adjourned.
