HIATUS FROM THE INN DUE TO RENOVATIONS
Week One - Thursday’s meeting in Rosalie’s “upper room” marked the first week of our three week hiatus from our normal meeting site the Sherwood Inn. Thanks go to Roberta Williams for ably setting up & coordinating our Rosalie’s “upper room” meeting.
Week Two - March 7th is Skaneateles Rotary Club’s 5thAnnual International Woman’s Day Celebration at 6pm in the Lodge at Welch Allyn. Amy Tormey & her IWD committee have planned an event that is sure to be informative & entertaining. This year’s IWD Keynote Speaker is the renowned inspirational speaker Linda Larson. I urge all of our members to promote & to attend this great event. Our 5thIWD Celebration also offers an opportunity for us to promote Rotary. Hope to see all of our members next week in the Lodge.
Week Three - March 14thour club is meeting in the recently refurbished Skaneateles American Legion Post 239’s “upper room”. Our Legion Post is celebrating it’s centennial. In 1919, our local Skaneateles WW1 Veterans gathered on the site of the Skaneateles Country Club to have their first Legion meeting. You can see a picture of these stalwart veterans in the Legion. Our speaker will be Skaneateles native Peter Clark. Peter is the President of the Tampa Bay Watch Committee. For the past several years Peter has headed up the drive to battle water pollution in the Tampa Bay. One facet of this struggle is dealing with the “Red Tide” , a nasty ocean cousin of the algae that has recently infected Skaneateles Lake. This is sure to be an interesting Program.
March 21 - Return to the renovated Sherwood Inn
