Announcements - Ward reminded everybody that this Sunday, July 10th is our Annual Book Gleaning & Packing party at 2PM at the Village Hall in the old apparatus bay. Ward encouraged members to bring their family & friends to pitch in & help this worthy cause.
Speaker - Mariah Mc Carron opened her presentation by thanking Rotary for giving her the opportunity to go to Finn land as a Rotary Exchange Student two years ago. While in Finland Mariah stayed with three Finnish host families in three different areas of Finland. This afforded Mariah the opportunity to fully discover Finland's majestic beauty. Mariah briefly described world renown Finnish education system. Finland's educational process is diametrically the opposite in many ways from the US's educational system. Students are not tested. Classes are short & they are structured differently than our classes. During her stay in Finland Mariah traveled throughout this beautiful country of lakes & forests. Mariah also visited Russia & on a nineteen day trip to Europe visited nine countries. Mariah responded to many questions from our members & in closing again expressed how grateful she is to Rotary for making her ten month long visit to Finland possible.
