SPRING HIGHWAY CLEANUP
Our Next Community Service Project
Rotarian Marv Langley has arranged for to Skaneateles Rotary Club, Highway Cleanup scheduled for May 14th, starting at 9:00 AM.  The meeting point with be the Mr. Pudders  parking lot.
   The section of Hwy 20 to be pickup is west from the western village limit to the County Line Rd.
        You will be required to sign a NYS Hwy Dept. waiver, which Marv will have on hand in the morning at Mr. Pudders.
        Bring good gloves and if warm enough, wear your Rotary tee-shirt.  Hard hats are mandatory and supplied will  by the Hwy Dept, along pickup sticks and trash bags.
   Safety instructions, provided the NY Hwy Dept must be adhered to, CLICK HERE to access a copy for your review.

   We is looking for a good turnout, as many hands make short work on this noteworthy community project.

The Beginnings - After a cocktail hour with Sangria and Margaritas crafted by Bill B and Ed, Bill Buterbaugh, emcee for the evening, welcomed members and guests to our Cinco de Mayo celebration.  It was an evening full of surprises and recognitions. 
Snowbird Welcome Back - Bill welcomed the following snowbirds back from afar:  Jack Emmer, Lori Ruhlman, Chuck O'Neil, Marv Langley, Danny Roche, Robin Jowaisas and Roberta Williams.
Paul Harris FellowsTen club members were recognized as new Paul Harris Fellows and achievement of a new Paul Harris level and Bill Buterbaugh made the presentation and thanked each for their generosity.

Special Presentation & Surprises 
> Jay's Paul Harris Fellow - Bill B surprised Jay with a Paul Harris award in recognition of his exemplary service as Community Service Chair.  Points were gifted to Jay for this PHF by an anonymous donor.  Jay has kept the club busy with lots of community service projects, big and small, but all meaningful.
> Jason's US Citizenship, which he attained in February  2020, was recognized.  Jason was presented with some all-American gifts:  an apple pie, a bottle of bourbon and a Buffalo Bills shirt, red, white and blue of course! 
> Happy Dollars  were collected to pass on to the morning club for their Ukraine Shelter Box project.  Members generously contributed over $500 which will cover more than one half of the cost of a Shelter Box.
> First outdoor meeting of the year - Robin announced that our first outdoor meeting will take place at the American Legion on June 2.  Stay posted for more information.
Special thanks to Bill B and Ed for planning and orchestrating a fun evening!
The Ending - Members recited the Four Way Test & the zoom portion of the meeting ended. 
Our Club's Progress on TRF Giving ... by Ward
As of May 1st, we are at 200% of our $5,100 goal for The Annual Fund and 244% or our PolioPlus goal.  Our total TRF giving for this Rotary year to date has been $15,075.  Our members have been very generous so far this year ..... And we still have two months to go ... if you have not contributed to The Rotary Foundation this Rotary year, please consider doing so .... Contact Bill Buterbaugh for details.
