LAST MEETING, Apr 18th .... by Mary
The BeginningsBill B presided over the meeting and led us in the pledge.  Guests were welcomed:  Mark and Tara McSwain (Nina's first host family), Sara and Tabor Buhl (Nina's second host family), Pam Fallesen and Deb Glisson (District Youth Exchange Program), Corinne B (Bill B's lovely spouse), Larry Jerome (hopefully a new member soon) and last but not least our lovely exchange student from Switzerland Nin Diener!
Announcements:
> Happy Hour: Bill B thanked Pam and Vince for a great happy Hour last week.
> Next meeting is May 2nd at which we will celebrate Dana Coye's 100th Birthday.  Also, Pancake Breakfast tickets will be distributed.
> Restock the Food Pantry project is in process, see article below.
> The Preakness Party will be held on May 16th.  It's our third annual celebration of Spring.  Bill B handed out flyers.
New Member Induction: Mike presided over the induction of John Buterbaugh as our newest member.  Sponsored by his proud Dad, Bill, John is no stranger as he has attended many a meeting and participated in many service projects.  Welcome John, we are glad to have you as a member!
The Program:  Lee introduced Nina, our exchange student.  Nina has attended many of our meetings.  After presenting flowers to her host families and thanking our club for its hospitality Nina told us about her home in northern Switzerland and its natural beauty. Nina introduced us to her Swiss family  as well as to her host families in Skaneateles.  She has enjoyed her time here and will return home to work in the hospitality industry.  Thank you Nina for a great presentation!  Pictured is Nina with her "sweet sixteen" birthday cake that was shared with those present.
The Ending:  Mary led us in the (Four + one) Five Way Test.
