SAVE THE DATE - While the annual Fathers Day Pancake Breakfast is still many months away, it is time to save the date on our calendars. Fathers Day this year is June 19th, so please mark that date in ink on your calendar, as well as the Friday AM and Saturday AM before for set-up, and Monday AM afterwards for tear down. This year will mark our 48th consecutive year holding our Club's biggest fund raising event, and we need every Rotarian to participate to insure its continued success! ... Thanks, Chuck

Summary Notes of Jan 14 Meeting ... by Ward
Your Board of Directors met last Thursday, Jan 14 and the following is a summary of discussions points and resolutions.
WinterFest - Prez Cheryl reminded of the Skaneateles SunRise RC's Annual Winterfest to take place on the weekend of Jan 30th, and that they a seeking volunteers. John Rooney, SSRC's president will be at our general meeting to review the event and ask for volunteers..
Valentine's Dinner - Is scheduled for Feb., 11th. Bill Conole & Amy Tormey have agreed to co-chair
Dinner Guest Meal Cost - Motion made and passed - The club will cover the cost of current YE Students and speakers; all others need to be pre-approved or approval of the President prior dinner.
Rotary Foundation Giving - to date numbers reported as: Annual Giving (SHARE); $5,380 or 87% of a $6,200 goal. PolioPlus: $2,041 or 102% of a $2,000 goal. 32 Rotarians and non-Rotarians participating YTD.
Grants Training and Membership Seminars - to take place at the Baldwinsville Library for 10 am - 1 pm on Saturday January 23. (no charge and lunch provided).Cathy Powell and Jim McQuiggan are planning on attending Grants portion if we are to participate in the next District Grant cycle. Interested in attending? Contact Cheryl.
Grants Chair - Cathy Powell agreed to pickup the position, that Bill Blessing vacated.
Officer's slate - Prez Cheryl reminded us that we still do not have the VP for the current year, or the following year. Additionally, we need to find 3 Directors to take 2 year positions on July 1, 2016
Club Assembly - Scheduled for the 2nd meeting in January and again on March 17th
Dues are due - The club treasure will get the billing out shortly.(see notice below)
50/50 Ticket Sales - Motion passed to limit 50/50 tickets to 3 per participant per meeting. Also, noted that only members are eligable to draw for the Queens pot.
50/50 & Sales requirements - It was pointed out the some new members are not aware of the requirements and procedures. There was a card place on the ticket table last Fall with this information but seems to have be misplaced. Ward volunteered to either find it or do a rewrite. (rewritten - Notice of Note above) Also, it was suggested that it be part of new-member information packet and/or discussions.
Program Schedule - Bill Conole discussed the program schedule and a few modifications and suggestions were made. Watch the upcoming programs in the newsletters and/web-site for these changes.
International Women's Month Event - has been rescheduled for Mar 10th to Mar 3rd.

District Conference - Cheryl announced that through tomorrow night, January 15th tickets for our 2016 Rotary District Conference can be purchased for the discounted price of $35. Cheryl noted that this year's conference is in nearby Auburn, so our club should have a strong showing. More information can be found and registration can be made by clicking the hot-link in District and Other Event below in this newsletter.
WinterFest - John Rooney, President of the Skaneateles Sunrise Club outlined this year's WinterFest activities. Every year members of our club pitch in to help make Winterfest a success. John left a sign-up sheet for our members to volunteer for specific tasks at specific times. Club members approved sponsoring a WinterFest sculpture with SunRise club for $150.

Women's Day Event - Amy Tormey requested that this year's International Women's Day Event be moved to March 3rd. Amy asked members to please forward any newsworthy items to her.
Rotary Foundation - Bill Buterbaugh reported that our Foundation giving is at about 80+% of our goal for the year. Bill asked every club member to please contribute to the Foundation. To qualify for the Every Rotarian Every Year, all club members should contribute , even if it a modest amount. Bill noted that our Polio giving is almost 100%.
Web-Site, FaceBook and Newsletter - Ward reported that he is continuing to upgrade our club website. If you have not done recently, check it out. Lots of Club, District and Rotary information on it. He urged members to review the newsletter weekly, as it contains a lot of current and future club and district information.
Grants Chair - Cheryl announced that our new club grants chair is Kathy Powell.
Programs - Bill Conole reported on our programs for the next two months.
Alternate Site for Feb. 25th - Prez. Cheryl noted that the Inn is not available on our February 25th meeting date. Bill Conole will line up an alternate meeting site.
Former Exchange Student - Thomas Boxo thanked everyone for the warm welcome he is receiving on his return visit. Thomas said he feels as if Skaneateles & our club are "family". He is completing his education & trying to sort out his career options. Thomas thanked our club for sponsoring hi 2011 visit and feels that his experience as an exchange student in Skaneateles helped hip to overcome his shyness. Thomas averred that that his exchange student year was the best year of his life.

eClubs - TRY THEM, YOU'LL LIKE THEM - For those of us the want to stay in touch with Rotary but are unable to make all of our club meetings, a Rotary eClub is a great option. They are a source of excellent information, project ideas, a window into Rotary activities around the world, and they qualify for an attendance make-ups. You can find time by going to the RI website's Club Finder, which you can find at the top of site's home page, or access direct at; https://www.rotary.org/en/search/club-finder I have visited many eClubs when I am at our condo in Cedar Key, Fl (kinda remote to any Rotary Club). One of my favorites, and very complete eClub is the; Rotary eClub of Southwest USA at: http://www.recswusa.org/ . I would be interested in hearing from other Skaneateles club members, about the eClubs that you explore. Try Them, You'll Like Them!

OUR 2015-16 ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE
LONG TERM EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Outbound - The 2015-16 Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound students have departed for a year as exchange students abroad. Sofia Darovskikh, to Finland, and Zach Driscoll to Germany. We wish them all the best on their "adventure of a lifetime".
Inbound - student have moved to their second host families: Vincent , from France, hosted by Jessica & Tom Wingfield, and Daniela from Chile, hosted by Shelly & Marc Strang.
SHORT TERM EXCHANGE PROGRAM (STEP)
Hope Glowacki has spent a few weeks in Sicily, Italy and her host sister, Irene returned with her to Skaneateles for a few weeks.
Adrianna Marshall traveled to Thuringia, Germany and his host sister, Constanze, returned to Skaneateles for an exchange.
