NOTICE - Venue for this week's meeting is the Mandana Inn at 6:30 p.m.  The dinner is $18 per person.  It is their "popular scrod dinner" with salad, rice, vegetable, and dessert.
BASEBALL FIELD PROJECT - Several Rotarians "pitched" in with the town's youth and parents to put finishing touches on the Austin Park baseball fields last Saturday.  Prez. Cheryl was "spotted" painting the backstop. Our club made a major contribution, through a District Matching Grant, to supply much of the materials and equipment (bases, etc.) to make this project a success.  Our thanks go out to Jim McQuiggan for organizing our members with such short notice. ROTARIANS AT WORK IN THEIR COMMUNITY!
AND THERE GOES ANOTHER TRUCK LOAD - CNY BFTW shipped another semi-truck load of 26 pallets of books to our Texas CNY warehouse on the first leg of their journey to the children of the world. There are another 15 pallets in our Bossong's warehouse that will ship once we glean another 11 pallets of books. Keep them coming! Bookleggers of CNY BFTW, stand tall for your six years continued accomplishments. ... by Ward

LAST WEEK  .... by Prez Cheryl . The meeting on Thursday, September 18th, was our Skaneateles Rotary Foundation Annual Meeting.  The meeting was called to order at 7:25 p.m.  Robin Jowaisas, Chairman, explained the purpose and background of the Skaneateles Rotary Foundation (SRF), and that every member of the club is a member of the Foundation.  Robin also talked briefly about the Pancake Breakfast and will go into more detail at our regular meeting on October 2nd.  At the meeting, we also elected 2 new members of the SRF Board:  Roberta Williams and John Moran.  Doug Powell made the motion to elect Roberta Williams and John Moran to the SRF Board, Jim McQuiggan seconded the motion, all in favor.  Motion passed.  Bill Stevens spoke about the 2013/2014 fiscal year SRF financials and gave a re-cap of worthy cause disbursements.  Chuck O’Neil introduced the SRF Endowment Fund, explained what it is, and distributed letters to the members with a brochure and pledge card.
