WHAT PAUL HARRIS SAID: "Rotary clubs had become service clubs, not in name only but in fact also. They turned their hands to any and all community undertakings in need of their services with such alacrity that their more philosophical brothers rose up in alarm lest their own pet theories be swept from the boards entirely."
ROTARY/DOUBLEDAY BALLGAME NIGHT - Tuesday, August 26th, (replaces Thursday, August 28th meeting) we are planning our weekly meeting to be at a Rotary night Doubleday Ballgame, Falcon Park, Auburn.  Cost is $25 per person, which includes food, beer, beverages, dessert and thicket to the game.  We will be joined by Rotarians from Area 6 clubs (8), plus clubs from 10 other regional clubs form adjoining districts.

LAST WEEK  .... by Bill Conole   Janet Steiner & Ed Kokklenberg from the Ithaca Rotary Club spoke on the Rotary National Immunization Day in India. Thanks to a large scale, comprehensive national immunization program, polio has been eliminated in India. Janet & Ed joined hundreds of Rotarians from around the world to participate in this dramatic & successful immunization program. As of mid July, 2014 there are only 126 cases of polio worldwide. Janet & Ed explained that even though we are tantalizingly close to eliminating polio, it still remains a threat in underdeveloped war torn countries such as Pakistan & Nigeria. Ed & Janet noted that all Rotarians can be justifiably proud of their efforts to eliminate the scourge of Polio.
