STATE STREET SCHOOL ANNUAL
HALLOWEEN PARTY & CIRCUS Mark your calendar for Halloween Night, Friday, Oct. 31st.
Costume Judging with Cider & DonutsAt 6 pm our club's Rotarians will host the annual costume judging with cider and donuts for the children of our village. Roberta Williams is looking for lots of volunteers to make this a memorable event. She would like to have an idea of who is coming, so please drop her an email at: bobariko1@verizon.net or call her at 315) 374-3339.
Join the Circus!! Last year, a wonderful crew of Rotarians also helped with setup at Haunted Hallways ... beginning at about 3:15 (one hour is great ... and we could also keep you for more!!! Any amount is good). This involved helping to blanket the hallways and lockers with sturdy black plastic sheets ... and helping with some structural things as well as lighting before and while the kids start decorating. A shout out to those of you who did it last year. Can we have you back?? :) Anyone willing to help, please contact Lori Ruhlman at loriruhlman@msn.com (or 729-2831) OR Karen Price at kprice@skanschools.org (729-1852).
If we have overflow volunteers at the Rotary event in the cafeteria and gym, we would always welcome Rotarians to help greet the masses in the lobby and at the front doors ... Our theme this year is a haunted CIRCUS!!! fun stuff. come dressed if you want. :)

LAST WEEK....Our club paid tribute to one of our most beloved members Art Fellerman. President Cheryl’s reading of Art’s January 2012 “Can you name this Rotarian” evoked warm memories of Art & of his service to our club & to Rotary. President Cheryl formally presented a Paul Harris Fellow Award to Art’s widow Dianne. An anonymous Rotarian made this tribute to Art possible by donating the points necessary for the award to Art. Dianne & her sons Mark & Gerick thanked the club for this tribute to their father. After Art’s award Cheryl presented Peter Anderson Paul Harris Life Time Achievement Award for Peter’s many years of contributing to the Rotary Foundation & to Rotary’s Polio program.
Peter Anderson was recognized for his significant gift to The Rotary Foundations' Endowment Fund; which, ranks him among the Rotary Foundation Benefactors.

WHAT LEONARDO DA VINCI SAID
"I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death."
