eClubs - TRY THEM, YOU'LL LIKE THEM - For those of us the want to stay in touch with Rotary but are unable to make all of our dlub meetings, a Rotary eClub is a great option. They are a source of excellent information, project ideas, a window into Rotary activities around the world, and they qualify for an attendance make-ups. You can find time by going to the RI website's Club Finder, which you can find at the top of site's home page, or access direct at; https://www.rotary.org/en/search/club-finder I have visited many eClubs when I am at our condo in Cedar Key, Fl (kinda remote to any Rotary Club) is; One of my favorites, and very complete eClub is the; Rotary eClub of Southwest USA at: http://www.recswusa.org/ . I would be interested in hearing from other Skaneateles club members, about the eClubs that you explore. Try Them, You'll Like Them!.... Ward
RLI IS UNDOUBTEDLY ONE OF THE BEST PROGRAMS TO ENGAGE, EDUCATE
AND RETAIN OUR MEMBERS.
by ... Monty Audenart, Past RI VP and RLI Officer
What can your Rotary club do to enhance membership retention? One of the most important things a club can do is to open up the world of Rotary to every new member.
The GOOD NEWS is that Rotary International is arguably the greatest worldwide organization of business, professional and community leaders, engaging in unbelievable service projects to help alleviate the most critical problems affecting the peoples of the world.
The BAD NEWS is that most Rotarians do not know much of anything about the world of Rotary outside their own clubs.
WHAT TO DO? RLI has adopted a new effort to encourage every Rotary club to send every new member to a RLI part 1 course during their first year of membership.
WHY? Through education, RLI creates enthusiasm for Rotary and motivates members to help strengthen their clubs. If new members are not enthusiastic about Rotary within a year, chances they will leave are greatly increased. The rate of loss of new members is enormous and unnecessary. We MUST do something about it.
Send each new Rotary club member to RLI Part 1
during the first year!
Let's attack the retention problem now so we can increase our efforts for abetter world and its peoples.

LAST WEEK.... by Prez Cheryl .Robin gave a recap of the 2014 Pancake Breakfast. It was the second highest ever bringing in $1,3976. Reasons for this success were the increase in ticket sales at the door, as well as the 50/50 raffle. Advance ticket sales were down from the previous year. Robin's biggest concern is attendance, noting a 20% drop since 2008. Many suggestions were given during this "brainstorming" session, including having a list of what organizations we support displayed when selling tickets at Tops. Another idea was offering and promoting some healthier choices at the breakfast such as yogurt and bananas. Cheryl thanked Robin for his continued efforts with the Pancake Breakfast, and of course the dedication of all Rotarians and volunteers.
