BOOKLEGGERS - The Skaneateles volunteer Bookleggers sorted and packed 25 cartons of children and adult fiction books at the closeout of the Skaneateles Library Book Sales last Sunday. These books are destined for the children and other eager readers in 3rd world countries. This total project was accomplished in less the 45 minutes. Many hands make short work of a great project. Thanks to all the participating Rotarians and their family members and guests. Oh Wow - In 1989 Council of Legislation voted to admit women into Rotary clubs worldwide remains a watershed moment in the history of Rotary. How-so-ever, our club's meal ticket still reads "This tickets entitles holder to HIS dinner ..... ". We proudly announced at last weeks BOD meeting that we had just purchased 6 boxes of tickets and show not run our for a while. That evening, one of our members happened to notice the HIS in the ticket. Oh wow! it took 25 years to be caught. Many thanks to Amy for the catch. She gets the ProofReader of quarter century award. Committee Chairs: President Cheryl Silvestrini reviewed the current committee chairs and six new chairs were named: Roberta Williams was named Membership Retention chair;Amy Tormey was named Membership chair working with committee member John Ralph;Doug Rutan was named Electronic-Media Chair working with Ward Vuillemot. Ward will deal with club administration and Doug & Ward will focus on content for newsletter and Facebook pages.Bill Conole was named Program and Public Relations chairs working with committee member Lori Ruhlman; Jim McQuiggan named Worthy Cause chair

Club's By-Laws and Constitution - Club Officers & Directors should become familiar with the Club's By-Laws and Constitution. These documents can be viewed on our website.
Funding Requests will be reviewed by the Worthy Cause committee prior to being submitted to the BOD for consideration.
Funding Approval procedures were reviewed for efficient transfer of approved funding requests from the Rotary board to the Foundation board. These procedures will be carried out by Secretary, Skip Plank
CNY Books of the World project - Board approved $360 for materials and shipping of two pallets of books.
Baseball field reconstruction project status: Funds have been transferred to the project, and volunteers will be needed at the end of summer
Auburn Doubleday Game Rotary Event - Proposed for Tuesday, August 26th with other area clubs, this event is in the planning stages with Auburn RC
Dinner Meeting Cards Project: A total cost of no more than $50.00, cards will be printed up that will allow free meal for a guest accompanied by a Rotarian. Ward to design and print.
Club Assembly will be held every other month after the board meeting of the month.
New Business: The board will revisit how 50-50 funds will be used. Some feel these funds should be used for "worthy causes" others feel should remain the same. Duane Weaver and Cheryl Silvestrini to research for debate at next board meeting.
LAST WEEK (July 10): President Cheryl presided over the first meeting of her 2014-15 year with a “club assembly”. She reviewed new roster of committee chairs & committee members that have been established for this Rotary years and asked members to join the committees of their choice. (officers, directors and committee chairs are listed in the left column of the weekly newsletter). As the meeting closed Cheryl agreed with one member's observation “that strong committees make a strong club”. Cheryl announced that there is to be a Club Assembly every second month to coincide with the date of the Board meeting of specific that month.
