LAST WEEK.... by Prez Cheryl .I think I can speak for everyone that we had a wonderful time at our meeting at The Mandana Inn last week. Mike Tudor was our host and guest speaker for the evening. He gave a great talk on the history of the Inn (including the story of the red lantern) and shared some vintage photos with us as well. Mike treated us all to a glass of wine with dinner. Mike's staff was phenomenal. A huge thank you to all of them. In his absence, we wished our dear friend, Ward, a very happy birthday and safe travels home! John Copely, guest of Jack Hyatt, won the 50/50 and promised to keep a watchful eye on Jack, who celebrated a birthday on Wednesday. Brad M. invited us all to the Legion on Saturday evening to welcome home all those who attended Honor Flight.
THIS WEEK: Robin Jowaisas - 2014 Pancake Breakfast Report.
FUTURE SPEAKERS & EVENTS:See listing below
OCTO-BREWFEST – by … Ed Helinski, AG - Here is an opportunity for your Rotary Club to make some monies from tips and pouring beer at the Octo-Brewfest at River Forest Campgrounds in Weedsport this Saturday, October 4th. Event is 1 to 5 pm. Campgrounds is off of Route 34, one mile north of the thruway exit in Weedsport. Sorry for being so late to you - just heard back from the promoter this afternoon.
Whatever your club makes in tips, you can earmark for anything. Octo-Brewfest will have 40 breweries and 100 beer brands on hand. Many of the breweries are not sending pourers, so here is our opportunity.
Seeking 2, 4, 6 people from each club. Looking for a minimum of 30 people. The more the merrier.
We do not collect money, we pour beer samples. ID's will already be checked. We take tips.
You need to provide manpower and provide your own tip jars (coffee canisters work really great). Put a label on it designating your club.
In the event of rain (crossing fingers NO!), rain date is Sunday October 5th.
Call with questions and keep my number - 315-664-3103.
